What do you guys do if you need to park in an area with an irrigation system? I'm worried about water spots forming that need aggressive approaches to be removed such as a polish or compound.

Find another parking spot. I'm not being a smart ass - this is exactly what I do.

Funny you brought this up. Just had a coworker go to a friend of mine for a full detail on his Jeep.
Went down the shore the next day and parked by a sprinkler system. Came back to his car to find hard water spots all over it that he can't get out himself.
I would say try and park somewhere else as best you can and avoid that crap.

I'd really have to take into
consideration, the notion of:
Needing to...vs...Having to.

Other than what has been suggested, I tried to think of another idea, but nothing happened....

Honestly, there is nothing else you can do.... The only thing I can recommend, giving your car a nice wash, clay and then AOI (such as HD Speed). Then go over the car with Collinite 476.

For starters, 476 is an amazing wax that will add a deep 5 mile shine to your car, but more importantly it's a marine wax and is extremely hydrophobic.

How about a car cover? I mean the good ones in which water does not soak through onto the car. Good ones can be expensive. :xyxthumbs:

Unfortunately there are sprinkler heads by all the parking spaces available so that's not an option. This is at my girlfriend's apartment so I won't be there all the time and I hope to avoid when the sprinklers will be on. I guess I'll have to wait and see how it goes.

OK.
Find out what all the other guys
are using for protection...

From the sprinklers.

I have the same problem. At the gf place, sprinklers everywhere. I park about a half mile sometimes about an mile. But its saves me time and it's worth it to me.

Find out what days the timer is set for and make sure it has battery back up.The property manager should be able to tell you when the water comes on. Ask them to notify your GF when or if they change the time or days. Do not visit her on wet days or have her pick you up with her ride.
