What to do after it rains?

What are we supposed to do after it rains?

I applied DP paint sealant and waxed with pinnacle liquid wax (I love that wax).

After it rains, I like to find a mud hole and drive my freshly waxed Jeep through it. The mud beading up on the paint makes me feel like the driver in a commercial.
 
Take pictures of the water beads and post the pictures on that thread.
 
Actually, it is just a general question.

Do we hose down the car and dry it?
Leave it alone until next wash?

I would probably take it for a drive if the roads are not too wet because the water should bead off of it. Sure you can rewash it if you would like, I would make sure you actually wash vs just using water and a towel just to make sure if there is any dust that got wet is removed without marring the newly prepped finish.

If you leave it be you might get water spots, especially on a darker color and especially on very flat surfaces.

you never ever want to wipe a car down that has seen ANY outside elements with just hose water. that is a gigantic NO NO on any detailing forum. Something not even a newb should ever do.

I you have the time, wash it - whether conventionally or with a rinseless wash. If you don't, just leave it alone.
 
Soooo....

if you pull back into the garage after driving in the rain, and the car is still wet...is there anything wrong with using ONR or UWW+ and spraying each panel to do a waterless wash?

No.
Not IMO.

I thought it was up to an each individual vehicle owner to determine when it's "safe" to wipe-down/clean their vehicle...
How dirty is too dirty to use Waterless Wash, Rinseless Wash, and/or QD's, in other words.

Same goes for pressure-washing a vehicle at a self-serve car wash, then driving it to the: "Finishing-It-Up-Place".


Either that...Or, wait for a 'normal' car washing session, if your faith in the claimed attributes of: WW, RW, QD's is lacking.

Rinseless washes can handel a decent amount of dirt. You could always use ONR after it rained especially if the car isn't too dirty. If you JUST washed it and then it only got rained on and stopped I would just use Ultima Waterless Wash+.
