So a while back my 08 Silverado LTZ was involved in a hit a run in Boston. Luckily the damage was isolated to the drivers fender and headlight.

And it just so happens that my neighbor is the appraiser for a high end body shop so I naturally brought the truck to him for the repairs.

The truck received the following

New OEM fender
OEM headlight
Blended the driver door

Then I had them strip and paint the hood due to clear coat issues previously

Strip and paint the bumper

Blend the passenger fender

I specifically asked him to not wetsand and polish anything on the truck and he followed up perfectly. The clear laid down nice with only minor orange peel on the door. I will take care of that at a later date.

So fast forward a couple weeks to yesterday morning. We were going to be getting hammered with snow so since none of us were going anywhere I figured now would be a good time to get the truck protected again.

I did a rinseless wash using Wolfgang Uber Rinseless wash.

Clayed with nanoskin medium grade prep pad on the PC using Uber Rinseless as a lubricant.

I corrected the non fresh paint with fast correcting cream, boss microfiber cutting pad and my g21.

Then finished polished the whole truck with Essence.

I used Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light for protection as it`s a very easy to use product.

I am very happy with the results on this 140k mile truck. It needed a little face lift.

-14 right now in WI. I would love to have access to a heated garage right now.

Your truck looks great, that 9 year old paint probably rivals most 15&16's. In a way your H&R helped out your truck. Glad you have a good paint/body shop you can trust to do a top quality job.

Can't wait till March and April when I can get the hose out again:)

Thanks bud. Yeah my little space heater works good. Just enough to get the chill out of the air.

Your absolutely right it helped out. Prior to this it had the beginning stages of clear coat failure on the hood. The drivers fender had paint peeling from a previous shoddy job before I bought the truck. And the front bumper had road rash all over it.

I hope to keep mine looking that good at 140K! At the moment I'm driving a big white crusty salt box...

Good deal, glad you got it all fixed up...and good to go for winter!

This is an awesome thing to do in a snowstorm! Most ppl want a warm fire and a movie. I'm with you, head to the garage, detail the ride and watch the snow fall. Great day for an AutoGeek

Have you corrected the chrome on the rear bumper, handles, and mirrors? I have a 2011 Silverado and the chrome is really swirled and I have not had any luck actually correcting them.
