what tool and products do you use in a 4 step proccess?

just wondering. i use the flex pe 14-2 and pads and products as follows:

yellow pad w. 3m rubbing compound

orange pad w. 3m machine polish

white pad w. 3m ultrafine

and finally grey pad w. mez final polish

thoughts?
 
If I do a 4 step. Wool is going to be involved up there towards the top. Other then that, I'm not a big "Jewelling" guy. By that stage, I have had just about all the fun I can stand
 
lol i hear ya. im just curious. ill take 2 and 3 step process's too. i just wanna hear different ways to correct paint
 
3 step fan here!

1. Wool pad or heavy cutting pad - m105

2.swirl remover pad-m205

3.polishing pad- Menzernas po85rd

just love the way it looks after these 3 steps! btw im a fan of the meguiars foam pads! its what i use! will try the LC next week! :props:

Usually, this. Four steps would involve wet sanding.

I read that Ultrafina is designed to be the final step before the LSP. Menz Final Polish may not be necessary. It may even be more aggressive than Ultrafina. Maybe the 3M Trio is already enough and the pads will depend on the correction needed. I read the distinguished Mike Phillips say, "Keep It Simple Simon."

Ive used both on my black mustang and no doubt, hands down, po85rd left a deeper reflections and shinier than ultrafina! By the way, i used po85rd with a finishing pad that has no cut!
 
It all depends. My go to is Mothers Professional Rubbing Compound,.followed by their Machine Glaze, and then their Foam Pad Polish.
 
ive heard alot about po85rd. i dont hear much about powergloss or power finish. how are those products?
 
I don't think I've ever done a 4 step. Truth be told, I probably wouldn't have the patience or attention span to last that long. If I did (right now), it would probably go something like this:

1. M105 or SIP on orange CCS pad
2. M205 or Nano on white CCS pad
3. PO85rd on gray CCS pad
4. glaze (EZ Creme Glaze or Black Light)

My bad. I thought Final Polish is different from Final Finish (PO85RD).

i use almost the same products but :

3M rubbing + wool or green pad
3M machine + yellow
3M ultrafina SE + blue soft pad for removing holograms
3M Finishing glaze + ultrasoft black pad
 
If i am 4 stepping, its this method

1) 3M Trizact 3000 grit sanding
2) Menzerna Power gloss & LC purple or yellow foam pad OR 3M Fast cut + and 3M green pad
3) Menzerna SIP and LC orange pad OR 3M Extra fine and 3M yellow pad
4) Menzerna PO85RD and LC Grey pad OR 3M Ultrafina SE and 3M blue pad

Equiment used is 3M RO sander and Flex PE 14-2-150
 
i wouldnt count clay barring as a step. thats part of the wash process in my mind. im talking about paint correction. as far as swirls and scratches ya know? i ordered a bunch of menz products the other day. im just waiting for them to come in. ill definitely post what i think of them
