Hello,
I have tried in the past to remove these marks with Poorboy SSR 2.5 and a couple of other less abrasive polishes with no luck. I know one is etching from water spots, but the other one I am not so sure about and I think it has been with the car since I bought it back in 2008. I may be out of luck, but just thought about them again and figured I would take some pictures to show for opinions. I was reading about Meguiar's M105 and Ultimate Compound and thought that maybe one would work. I know M105 is more abrasive than UC, but I would prefer not having to buy two products and jump right to what will definitely work if possible. I also read Subaru has soft paint, but one of the spots is really old so it may be more stubborn to remove. The bad spot is pretty smooth when I rub my finger over it, but I can feel slight grittiness gently moving my nail over it. I have a PC dual action buffer and a set of the lake country hydro tech pads on hand and just need to know what compound I should give it a go with. I've attached several pictures of what I am talking about.
The car is a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STI. Please excuse how dirty it is. It's been sitting in the garage for the last couple of weeks since I was out of town on vacation.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
