Sure is, Automotive grade ( Sold at Autobody Suppliers / Paint suppliers ), blue is usually home painters tape...The Green is available in alot more sizes, at least that I have seen...06VISTA said:Green is painters tape correct?
Isn't it supposed to remove easier/leave no residue? I have 3M blue painters tape and it always leaves a residue on the rubber trim like around the windshield etc.Padron said:Sure is, Automotive grade ( Sold at Autobody Suppliers / Paint suppliers ), blue is usually home painters tape...The Green is available in alot more sizes, at least that I have seen...
I have never seen any residue left from the 3M Green, I also think it seems to have a stronger adhesive ( Sticks Better ) than the 3M Blue, also the Green comes in 1/8 or 1/4 inch size that I really like for small seams between panels.Surfer said:Isn't it supposed to remove easier/leave no residue? Your correct, one is multi purpose..this is the one leaving behind the resindue..there is another grade under the multi purpose..but i dont have it in front of me..Grimm said:I used Blue, and also had some residue left on the hard rubber trim. I did notice that there are a couple types of blue as far as the stickiness.

What ever you guys do DO NOT buy "Duck" brand painters tape. It shed a ton of little blue specs right into my brand new Megs pads while passing over it!
I was LIVID when I realized what had happened.
