What WAS your favorite product/methods

No, I don't remember it streaking it just didn't seem to have any longevity.

Oh, I remember ruining the paint on my dad's black/gold 85 Trans Am because I waxed with Turtle wax paste wax it in the direct sunlight. I was 14 and thought he'd appreciate me washing all the cars and waxing his pride and joy. He didn't notice the huge swirlies in the hood until months later. I finally confessed to him about a year ago. He still swears it was just the paint going bad.

:laughing::laughing::laughing:

10-04- That 85 had great body lines if I remember correctly.

I definitely remember the lines of the 84&85 z28's and the 84 vette.

Yeah, it was the first year of the "smaller" TransAm I think. It sure was pretty.

Thanks for posting BillE. I have never heard of this product; however I still use corn starch when using greaseless compounds on aluminum.

It came out in '57 or so. Prior to this, it was using the cleaner (green can) and then wax (yellow can)... and let me tell ya it was a WORKOUT!

I my be wrong, but this may have been the first true AOI.

Bill

BillE - I did a little digging around and I believe you to be correct on the first AIO.

I remember waxing my dad's Mercury Comet with Blue Coral wax that came in a little blue jar. That stuff was as hard as candle wax and stupid me using it in direct sun light took me hours to get it off. That was back in the mid sixties (I'm 60 yrs old now). I bought one of those big red plastic buffers at Sears 30 or 40 years ago. If only I knew then what I know now, but as they say, Live and Learn. What stinks now is all the knowledge I've picked up over the years can't be used do to physical issues. Oh well.
