most of us started our obsession with car care because of love. Who was your first love? the car you just couldn't wait to get your learners permit for.

mine was the 1985 or 86 porsche 911 turbo in black that used to sit on the turntable at my local Porsche dealership before they closed down in the mid 90's. i was reminded by this ad from the 90's:

1993.5-1998 Toyota Supra TT 6-spd Royal Sapphire Pearl on black leather Targa Top

White Lambo Countach. I saw one outside a hotel when I was in High School. My jaw dropped.

Mid 80's 911 Turbo a close second. I still plan to own one of those someday.

My mom had a 67 Mercury Cougar when I was growing up and I always loved that car. I bought mine in 1998.

Same car that I still love to this day:

Two cars stand out from my childhood:

Detomaso Pantera
Lamborghini Jalpa

Both cars were flawed by today's standards but stunning to look at.

When I was young and the movie "The Fast and the Furious" was released I fell in love with the Eclipse GSX as well as the Supra they used in the movie. Still favorites as they where very popular as I grew up, but now something else came into my eyes. In 7th grade my eyes met the 2004 Subaru Impreza wrx STi, I'm a freshmen in college (18) and I'm still not over it :)

Mine is a little different experience. I learned to love cars because of my neighborhood, they all seemed to have American hot rods!
The neighbor around the corner always had about 3 or 4 dillapidated 68/69 firebirds in the yard in different stages of repair (not restore, but repair...this was in '75 or so). But the big, BIG influence was the Vanderspool family; dad, twin older boys Tim/Tom, and my older friend Scottie...all of them accomplished and talented mechanics. Dad had a 69 (?) El Camino SS, the boys had Chevelle SS(s), and Scottie had the most beautiful 69 Olds 442 on the planet. They built all of their cars frame up, meticulous detail at every single stage, taking years to complete. I was the little kid that got to hang out and watch the big boys build, grind, paint, and polish. It was awesome!

Sorry, didn't really answer the question. Even though I grew up amazed by that American muscle, my dream car was always the Ferrari Dino...pure sex.

Ferrari Testerosa. Miami Vice did it to me.

Dream car that I knew I could realistically own one day was a 1964 Chevrolet Impala. I loved the big Chevy's when I was a kid. I got one when I was 17 for my first car.

I've liked way too many cars to pick just one dream car until just recently when Lotus released the Evora... So yeah, my dream car is the Lotus Evora.
