Hello everyone, well it seems of all people, my mom got me back into the detailing scene. Got a call to do her Volvo XC-90. Pics if you all care to see ayoungsters work :p

Process:

Wash with schmit / ag bucket
Wheels done with DP gel cleaner
APC on fender wells
Dry via guzzler
Clay with megs gold kit
Wax with DP MaxWax [awesome on metallic greys]
Duragloss QD [Good stuff] !

Inside was RANK SMELLING. Well apparently some invisible creature died on this molded carpet thingy in the very back that hides away under a carpeted board that folds up where you can put grocerys/ Anyway... it SMELLED REALLY BAD throughout the whole car which baked in the fla sun for a few days O.o'

So every square inch of carpet was cleaned with DP Upholstry cleaner and scrubed with the PC super brush at speed 5-6 and extracted with my ridgid shopvac that resembles an oversized showbox :p

Vinyl was scrubed DP total interior cleaner with microfiber gloves on to make sure everything was out, then ran over with a MF applicator. I then protected everything with Poorboys Natural look which iI consider the best finishing dressing ever. :) And smells good :D

Leather was first cleaned with total interior cleaner again with MF applicator and MF gloves. Conditioned / sealed with Poorboys Leather Stuff [AWESOME STUFF!] Leather was supple and soft and smelled like well leather :p

all interior plastics, infront of the speedo, etc were cleaned with Wolfgang plastic cleaner. Ive never quite done a detail like this one before, usually it has been all out with polishing, etc.. However the paint on the volvo was superb after claying.

Input PLEASE. Also will take pics if anyone is interested.

You change your signature. AG already carried Menzerna polishes...
where were you anyway?
been busy man. Had to keep running to the bank to deposit grad checks
Also work, I am getting tired of them tho, I refuse to save their butts constantly at work and fixing their bad detailing

Sister is off riding for the summer, shes an excellent hunter seat rider [horse] so its just me and mom at the house with my stepdad.

I cant wait to get back to the forums!

-Ryan :D

PS: ID REALLY LIKE SOME INPUT ON WHAT TO CHARGE

And about the price, I know she got me to do it to have some spending money at school. So I can charge her with good heart this time, usually I keep up all the cars for free. :)

Wash and wax for anyone, charge them $50.

If it's your mom, do the right thing and don't charge her anything!!!

well she has access to my checking, so shes going to deposit it no matter what. im more concerned with the interior detail price. it had to be the most thorough one Ive done yet to get the stink out.

when doing "full" details....for me family is always free...friends are usually 150 dollars or less depending on the condition of the car (and they only get one step polish)...clients are 150 and up (and obviously they get every bit of my potential put into their car)....and when someone asks me just to "wash and wax their car" 50 bucks and i guarantee them it will be better than what they get at the local swirl and wash....

This is a good topic (pricing wise) because I find I second guess my self when I tell a co-worker the price for what ever I'm doing. So does $50 for a wash and wax seem reasonable? Sounds like a good number.

I don't have a response to your question..but its good to see you posting again

welcome back

thanks Joe, nice to be back :)

I do think 50$ is a nice wash and wax price. At the shop where I only work when they fork out the money for me, it is 50$ and will go up to $60 for the full sized trucks.

here's my price list, maybe something good to start off at:
