What would you do, 74 Javelin AMC?

Really!
Dirt more valuable than the car?? Grin.
Hummm...as for the Javelin, guess I would not touch it then. It’s got a couple old bird poop on it!!! Lol....

I meant dirt on the paint. But hey, selling authentic barn find dirt to barnify a car might be viable business opportunity. To a certain extent, I don't get the love for dirty unrestored cars with chunks of missing paint and rust. With the exception of trucks, patina'd trucks or rat rods look cool.

Knew what you meant and believe that the whole package (barn find/dirt. etc...) as found can be more valuable than a restored car.

Thanks for posting!

This came in for service here at Bruno’s Classic Muscle.

A fun activity here.

“What would you do to restore the Javelin?”

Fire away gents!

OMG my FAVORITE muscle car!
AND my favorite year for them!!!!!!

Geez.."Face palm"

Lol...

The other weird thing right now in the collector world is that original barn find dirt is the Holy Grail. The dirtier the more prestigious in some cases. Some beat up original cars are worth more than their pristine restored counterparts.

That is only if the "dirt" adds to the provenance of the car ... e.g. the car was owned by someone famous/infamous and stored for ages, the cars were bought and stored (by dealer or other) from Day 1, the car was stolen and buried in the backyard (the infamous Ferrari in California), etc.

"Dirt" on a car with no provenance and no significant value is worth nothing.

You might be right in regard to the majority of cars at auctions. But barn finds are the all the rage on youtube. Some people are quite fanatical about them.
