Or you could just get the rotary and practice on a test panel/car and get use to it.

a rotary is a great tool, however it is more of a pro detailing tool (a lot of details or moderate per week)

use the flex, if you don't like it, you can sell it (for probably what you bought it for - minus shipping).

As far as the question of pricing, rather than debate the issue of time and cost per hour, rotary v. flex. v. UDM, I would just say that you should make sure to discuss the price UP FRONT. As a consumer, I don't mind paying for good work, but I do want an idea of the price before hand. Explain to the customer the amount of time you think the project will take and the hourly charge. Let them decide if it's worth $600.00 to have it look that good or if they'd rather pay $300.00 for something "nice" but not perfect.

Yes I agree 100%, I would never surprise a customer when they showed up afterward and tell them "oh that'll be $600 please." I know I need to get my working time down which is why I am interested in a rotary. If I bid a price for a job and go over what I thought it would take I just eat the loss, I don't change the price on someone. I have been reading alot about the FLEX and some say that it cuts the time in half compared to a PC or UDM. If that is truly the case I will prob go that route, still not sure though? I take my time so I don't think I will have too difficult a time learning a rotary?

wow you did an amazing job! did you use touch up paint on his hood and did you remove the emblems?

Yes I did use some touch up paint on the hood and side moldings, NO I did not remove the badges..I used some make up pads from wallmart, they are very soft and easy to use.
