What you like to see for a Live Broadcast?

Re: What you you like to see for a Live Broadcast?

Using any body panel & color of your choice I would like to see the do's and don'ts (including burn through) using a rotary buffer exclusively. Speeds used, types of pads, wool included, with various compounds and polishes. Kind of a rotary 101 showing the results of both proper and improper usage. I know that you can finish with a rotary but that would not be as important as just showing basic usage. That could lead into working a vehicle with the rotary perhaps finishing with a DA.

I love this idea!

Also, I'd like to see Mike, or another professional, in action as if there weren't a camera on them. I see in some of the Show N' Shine threads where someone will ask how long a foam, 2BM wash, clay bar, 2 step correction, IPA wipedown with LSP took and I see 5 hours? I know I'm relatively new to machine polishing, but I can't see ever getting down to 5 hours for this type of job.

I wouldn't need to see an entire car get polished out, but maybe a full hood so I can see where I can cut down on time.

Re: What you you like to see for a Live Broadcast?

Mike,

How about someone's daily driver with your applied KISS methodology?

Or to take it a step further with more focus on deep interior cleaning (carpets, plastic stain removal, headliners and heavy brake dust removal) too?

Thanks,

Re: What you you like to see for a Live Broadcast?

Any chance of creating a library of post-edited video shorts (each only a few minutes long, snipped from the longer one, indexed by topic covered)?

For example, a short pad cleaning video, and a DA speed selection video snip for using product x, and...etc?

Or maybe this already exists?
(even an index of topics and the elapsed time during the longer video where it starts, then a link to the longer video (assuming you can fast forward) would be helpful)

I've been getting some calls on detailing Waverunners. That would make a cool Broadcast.

I can get one of these and the new Fiat 500

I actually hosted a class at Meguiar's where we had one of the first Smart Cars imported into the United States.

From 2005, here's my buddy Mark's Smart Car...

OK then, I'd like to see a '69 ZL-1 Corvette:dblthumb2:

How about a leather care "mythbusting" segment?

Hey Mike...so have you decided what you were going to do tonight?

Hey Mike...so have you decided what you were going to do tonight?

The Cadillac canceled on us so I'm working on a replacement...

Tonight is going to be an Optimum Polymer Technologies night using the new 5" Hybrid Pads on the Flex 3401 and Hydro-Tech pads on DA Polishers.

I have some people attending that have never machine buffed tonight so I'm going to be teaching them how to use both machines. I also promised Paul I would show him live on camera how to use his new Griot's polisher. See this thread,

Keep in mind this thread was to get feedback, we'll do our best to implement some of the requests in the future.

Yep, that might have broad appeal considering how many cars on the road are lighter colors like silver and white.

They will never have the depth of a well-finished black/dark paint, but it would be nice to see what level Mr. Mike can take it to and what products would be chosen. An older dull white/light color would show the biggest change, but a newer, already fairly good condition one would be more of a challenge to show an improvement. If nothing else it might prove that you shouldn't sweat it if you have a light paint and there's not much improvement to be had (if it's already in nice condition).

Mike, this is an old thread, but I can see a lot of people, like me, want videos on rotary.
I know ag focus on beginners and safe approach, but ag is really short on rotary guides... And a lot of the beginners are getting a little more experienced and want to step up to rotaries eventually...
And also more guides like the last one on hard to reach areas and body lines.

Lets do the 2013 Mini Cooper S with the turbo, the wife's car and its something different. Live broadcast with some new and different products. LOL

Real world cars that pigs drive and trash like I get into at work everyday.
