What your go-to "Sleeper" Product?

It’s pretty hard to have a true “sleeper” product here on AGO. I mean, that’s what we DO right?? Lol

But when this question arises, I equate “sleeper” with “grossly underrated”.

And in that case, I always think of this one product first:

I almost put 253 on my list as well. In fact, I would probably put the whole Duragloss range down as sleepers, that and Poorboys.

LOL. I thought I was the only nut who dresses the spare tire! You can see it under the truck, so i shoot it with hyperdressing. Spray and walk away.

What?! I thought I was the only nut who did that too.

:iagree:

Put me down in the list as someone that never tried DG253 but have been curious about it as well. I just haven't felt the need to try another dressing since using Perl. But I might buy a bottle of this to try next time I order something.

You will not be sorry. Back in the day I looked forever for a tire product that looked right and most importantly would not SLING OFF on the paint. This fit the bill 100%. I have several bottles in back stock. The only rival I have found is the TW Acrylic Graphene tire spray/coating. Another amazing product! One applied the tires can be cleaned with soap & water.

Reminds me of the time when I was younger and bought a pair of tires from a guy at a swap meet. He had covered every square inch of them in Armor All.

For a while I could leave 2 black strips in 3rd gear in my little 140 hp Jetta. (Like, from a roll - not spinning them up through 3rd gear!)

This was shipped to me on accident, but is now my go-to tire dressing. It looks good, but the greatest selling point is how long it lasts! I first used it on my gf’s daily driver and it impressed me when her tires still looked good 3 weeks later! Now it’s all I use (and yes, I also have a bottle of DG 253).

I also like that it’s in a squeeze bottle. I absolutely hate completing a huge detail only to get overspray or mist from a spray bottle or aerosol can all over the car. When it’s sunny and you have a black car, things like that really show up!

EDIT: Tried to upload pic showing the tire dressing, but it was a small image. Then I tried to remove the image, but now it just shows as a thumbnail at the bottom of the post! Im the MAN

Continuing with the Griot’s theme, their Best of Show Detailer (milky light blue color) is also a must-have in my opinion because it works so well in direct sunlight. I had a bird bomb yesterday and used a waterless wash to remove it. Unfortunately the WW left streaks because sun+black = HOT. The BOSS Detailer took car of all the streaks thankfully.

I don't consider 253 a sleeper product, but a great product that has a lot of fans including me.

Here’s my sleeper, and it’s not like people haven’t heard of it, but I think it’s more like people underrate it whenever they list their top cutting compounds. Not me. D300 is near the top of my list and probably my favorite compound to work with while producing amazing results.

I like Griot’s Fast Correcting Cream a little better since I bought a gallon of it but D300 works well too. And it is $30 cheaper than Griot’s FCC by the gallon.

Thank you everyone who posted some of their go-to products! A lot of these I have not yet tried, but am excited to see what's out there that isn't as popular as it should be.

Always a favorite. We have a gallon at the shop. Two of the most reputable shops in my area use this as well.

I still use 3D ONE or ACA500, but I still have this M110, and Ultimat Compound on hand. I sold off everything else.

Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer.

Came out a few years ago just learned about it this year, so clearly not talked about often.

What I enjoy most(beyond the very nice gloss and slickness it offers) is the fact it comes concentrate and dilutes 1:3. This is a very cost effective QD which QDs usually don't last long in the summer.

You will be really impressed. I used 253 for many years and recently tried Optimum Tire Gel and now PERL just to see what they were about. 253 is much better. Goes on easier, works with a wider variety of tires, and lasts way longer...all in my experience, of course.
