just curious to what everyone turns to for a basic one step (before sealant or wax) and which pad works best with what u use

Mine is Auto Finesse Tripple - All in One this product is great use it on older cars all the time.

Werkstat Prime Strong.
I always used it by hand though.
I just ordered some Prime Acrylic though so that might take it's place.

An AIO has a sealant or wax in it and that's what makes it an AIO.

Duragloss 501/601 using a light polishing foam pad. Its cleaning and durability qualities are tops in the AIO arena. However it doesn't have the correction of a D151. AIOs usually are limited in durability. Not DG 501 and you can't beat the price.

I think he meant a single step polish.... Not an AIO!!!

I haven't used many true AIOs (cleaner/polish/LSP). But, I've used Optimum GPS by hand on some smaller things like wiper arms and roof racks and it works pretty well. Its very convenient, you just spray it on the pad. I imagine if your in the business, these products are truly great time savers.

I've also used PBs Polish w/ Sealant. Results were not as impressive as GPS.

If you meant paint cleaner / polish / glaze I like Prima Amigo. Although the "polish" or abrasive part of it is questionable.

I'm not quite sure what the OP is after based on his post.

True AIOs are rare IME as the protection generally doesn't last for more than a few weeks. The exceptions I've found are Duragloss 501, Optimum GPS and Meguiars D151. That is in order from least cut to most cut but also from most durable protection to least durable. However, D151 is still better than most AIOs for longevity.

If you're just going to top it immediately there are bunch of good one-step polishes: Menzerna 203/ PF2500 and Scholl Concepts S17+ can both give a reasonably good degree of correction on most paints and still finish acceptably. I also hear good things about Scholl S20 Blue and SONAX Perfect Finish 4/6 but I haven't used either of those yet.

This is probably a stupid question but does klasse aio have wax or sealant in it? Can I apply opti-coat after klasses aio or is that a bad idea?

I use Chemical guys AIO with an orange pad. Seems to work pretty well.

If you were using Poorboy PwS you can throw a coat of say Collinite 845 over it right?
