My CR Spotless system arrived the other day and I gave it a try. It was dusk and I was low on light, but I got the wash done before dark.

The next day my car looked GREAT sitting in the garage. I was happy with the lack of water spots.

The lighting in my garage is good, but not great, so I grabbed my LED flashlight to better inspect the paint.....

HOLY S#1T was I stunned at what I saw. With the flashlight hitting, I saw billions of tiny white dots everywhere. Almost as if sand was lightly poured over the car. The paint surface was pretty smooth, but the white dots were everywhere! You couldnt see them under normal light, nor feel them in any light...obviously.

Water spots don't appear as tiny dots. How old is the car? What part of the car had the dots? Mostly the front?

It's a 2013. The dots are pretty visible on the hood, roof, and trunk lid.

Incomplete rinse maybe? Sometimes on dark colored cars you need to use a detailer spray as a drying aide.

Im going to provide some pics, I know it would help a ton here..

Ive seen tiny dots and it was over-sling ( if you will ) from polish off of the pad.

Well I guess Im just an idiot. Apparently, this is just a different black paint option for my car called phantom black tri coat pearl. I had no idea that this was even an option. What gets me is that it looks very strange under un-natural light. Oh well, live and learn.

i was gona suggest.. you probably have metallic based paint which has some sort of paint patterns in it..

Nope I was wrong. My paint code is PX8 which apparently is standard gloss black, so I'm gonna put up some pics...

So I washed the car again today and decided to take a closer look at the issue I have going on. At first I thought it was the paint I had, but I now know I have plain old black. As you can see in the pic, the same pattern continues to the rear windshield. The crazy thing is, you cant feel it on the glass or paint and you cant see it at all in plain daylight!

So what could this be?

That does not look right. This honestly looks like back and forth wiping motions. How are you washing it?

Trust me, the stuff you see isnt coming off with a wash mitt and some soap. I tried rubbing a small area with my fingernail and it made little to no difference.

Hmm, it almost looks like as if there might've been some contaminates on the mitt possibly resulting in whatever it is embedded itself in the clear coat. If you polish a small area you should be able to tell.

But, because it transfers over the glass in the same motion as it is on the paint it's almost as if it were overspray. Its hard to tell without seeing in person.

I would do a small test spot man with going least aggressive and up to try and determine what it could be. That doesn't look like it will be easy to get out.

Clay bar is taking care of it pretty well on the paint, and pure acetone it taking it off the glass.

The color of the contaminants on the clay bar is green. So I started looking around the house for something green, suddenly I remembered about a kids table and chair my wife spray painted on the driveway months ago while I was deployed :(

The crazy thing is how evenly distributed the spray was, and it covered 100% of the car!
