Another vote for Folex. I have removed some real nasty stains with it.

Is it meant to be used straight, or cut with water?

Folex is meant to be used straight. But I have cut it with water 1:1 and it still worked okay on lightly soiled carpets.

I like Folex, but I've found on lighter shades of carpet it tends to give it sort of a bleached look. Anybody else find it turning their carpet a lighter shade?

If there is a dye in the grape soda than your stain will not come out. You may need to re dye the rug back to it's original color.

Red's and purple's are so very difficult to remove, if not impossible sometimes. When I do interiors I always ask If they have any red stains. Junkman turned me on to Red Medic, but I haven't never ordered yet.
