I always love seeing before and after pics so I figured I'd start this thread. I wanted to see what some of everyone's most impressive turn arounds have been along with the products used because...after all, who here isn't always looking to try new products?? :xyxthumbs: Lets see the results!!

I'll get the party started, this was a 99 Yukon I did for the in-laws.
Products/Process:
Original PC 7424
Optimum Compound (before hyper compound was out!) w/ LC Orange Pad
Optimum Polish w/ LC White pad
ClearKote Red Moose Machine Glaze w/ LC white pad
PB EX Sealant w/ LC gray pad
ClearKote MooseWax w/ LC blue pad

Good work!! :props: It's amazing what an DA can do, very versatile and isn't expensive. How old your is pc? I have read they are really reliable, I only went Griot's because of life time warranty.

Thanks man. PC is probably about 4-5 years old and it's got a good amount of hours on it too. I've done probably around 40ish jobs with it, give or take. Anything from full correction to one-steps. Durability on the machine, I've been way impressed.

This would be my most recent ........ customer washed the exterior at a do-it-yourself while on a ski trip in Taos, NM. Lots of salt and sand on the roadway etc. You'll see what he did to the finish ........... and then you'll see what I did to the finish. :xyxthumbs:

Single stage polishing using a green LC pad on a Flex
Menzerna Power Finish polish/compound
Jetseal 109 sealant

WOW, nice turn around there Shade Tree...paint abuse by maintenance. Tell him no touchy the brushy.

Nice. These are the kind of posts I enjoy seeing on AG. The "I just detailed my three week old car" postings were getting to me.

Thanks for showing what real detailing is all about.

Really a beautiful job! I can honestly say that I have not used/tried the majority of the products you listed, however they sure do like to work for you! :dblthumb2:

Thanks. This is actually his wife's Yukon and she wasn't happy with what the hubby had done .......... lol

Shade tree, about how long did it take you to do that from start to finish?

Here's probably my best 50/50's, Chevy Avalanche

Process was PC, using Power Gloss and Meg's burgandy, and several passes.

awesome shade tree..... I recently did a G37 that looked similar on the befores, it was swirled and hologramed like crazy. How the heck are people able to destroy a finish so easily with a rotary. They putting sand in the pad or something? has me scared to death to try one. Is it just the issue of using correct pads and products?

Actually, it's an issue of finding what works for you in regards to routine, equipment and products. The nice thing about the Menzerna Power Finish is that it works as hard as you want it to within its own limitations. Meaning it works as well with green, white yellow and orange pads .... it's as aggressive as you need it to be without going to a heavier cutting compound.

I also use 4 different polishers/DAs depending on the polishing stage and needs. With foam pads it really is just about impossible to screw up. Menzerna Power Finish works extremely well as a finishing polish ......... to the point that many times (such as the vehicle above) I don't need to follow up with anything more than a wax or sealant.

Very nice!

I'll wager that the chalky finish comes back within 6 months though. Mainly because the clear coat has already begun to fail. Love the 50/50 shot!

Really nice work and good call water marking your photos. That way your skill won't show up on some idiot's "detailing" web site...

Unfortunately, photoshop helps everyone to get around that if they really want to. Oh well .. :iagree:

Keeps us busy though, right?? :props:
