What's the oldest car you've driven?

1965 Chrysler Newport -- not a show car, etc.

1950 Chevrolet coupe, all original, less than 70,000 miles. It was owned by my great aunt, who was the original owner.

1914 or 15 Renault EK Coupe

Don't remember too much about it. It was owned by a German engineer friend of my dads.
And he let me drive it a couple of blocks near his home in Topanga Canyon. The year was 1969

This isn't it but looks (except for color and condition) nearly identical.

1967 Pontiac Firebird.

Ouch, that makes me feel old. My best friend's dad traded in his 1956 Bel Air for a 1967 Firebird when they were first announced. I still remember that as a new car.

At least he traded in the Chevy. Their other car was a 1963 Grand Prix with a Tri-Power 389. That was a gorgeous car.

1952 Chevy pickup. Flathead 6 cylinder and 3 speed on the column...:props:

The door handles on the inside didn't work so I'd have to roll down the window and open it using the outer door handle. To start the truck I'd switch on the key and the starter button was on the floor.

OH, and it had a small fan mounted to the dash! :props:

Those were the days.....

Years ago I worked for a limo service that rented old cars for weddings . We had a 1936 Packard Town Car ,1938 Packard Sedan, 1936 Cadilac, 1938 Chrysler Imperial, 1936 Buick and our oldest car a 1935 Studebaker Commander. Since I was a driver and drove these cars all the time for 10 years.
, and when we went to car shows I would detail these cars.

1934 Plymouth PF coupe. I was the third owner of the car and it was a blast to drive.

1955 Willy's Jeep Pickup. Olds 350, 3 speed manual, 33 inch AT's. Manual everything.

My father-in-law restored a 29 A Model some 30+ years ago. He still has it and we get it out here and there. Inside is better than new, mohair and all. Outside is hand rubbed lacquer, swirled all to SNOT! Through the years he's dropped stuff on it in the garage and it has a few dings and dents. No rust though and will run and drive like new.

The one that got away was my Grandfathers 53 4 door Chevy Bel Air 'highboy'. He had a son that went to prison (for murder) when I was a toddler, (around 1959) and when I was in my late 30's he got out, got drunk and took the car. (More like he stole it but didn't get sent back to jail for it.) He ran it till it blew up and it sat at the house for years after that.

When I was a kid we used to go up there and make ice cream, riding to the ice house in the car, or to the lake, and Granddaddy used to yell at my Dad for trying to start the car when we'd stop at a red light. (It was so quiet Dad would think it'd stopped running.)

Then there was the 62 Chevy step side pickup that was supposed to be mine when he passed, but he had locked it in my aunts barn and she wanted to sue me over it. I got last laugh though because I was the executor of the estate (she had cleaned out the bank account) and I told her son that I was selling it and if she didn't like it I'd press charges for grand theft. ;)

1956 Holden FE Special Sedan. 'Grey' motor, three speed manual gearbox.

She had a great style. I called her Bev.
