What's this on my windshield?

I seriously would not know what this chemical is/was and where it came from. The car is always washed with proper techniques with well known detergents and cleaners. Although not always garaged, but there is nothing that's above the car at all times.

Just ordered Ceriglass from Amazon prime. Will be here in 2 business days.

Also waiting for the new BOSS G15. Can't believe the first area to be used on is my windshield. lol.

That's a chemical that etched into the glass.foam pads don't have enough bite.I would have ordered the ceriglass and polished the glass with a wool polish pad with medium pressure, all the high tech glass cleaners won't remove that.why you are waiting for products try fine steel wool and compound and see if any improvement.

Ok that's a start it really looks like a acid based cleaner etched the glass,I'm only saying this because I damaged a windshield back in the 90's it wasn't repairable so good luck and let us know the results.

did you spray iron x on the windshield ?

It's been a few months since I properly detailed the car and I don't remember applying iron x or trix on the windshield. matter of fact, I don't remember applying anything to the windshield and let it streak like that without washing or cleaning it off.

The only thing acidic I have is the meguires wheel brightener, and I would never spray that on the windshield....

UPDATE:

Used Griot's G15 and 3 kinds of polish for testing. I found:

CarPro Rayon glass polish pad with CarPro glass polish worked the best
Also got DP High Perfomance glass restorer and Wolfgang Perfekt vision, which didn't work as well as the CarPro glass polish. The DP polish is very runny and it splatters (huge bottle). Wolfgang Perfekt vision is not as runny but it's not as thick as the CarPro one.

The CarPro polish dries fast so I just sprayed some quick detail to lube it up a little bit for more working time. All of "staining" has been removed.

I used that Meg's cleaner on wheels from a Honda Odyssey on a windy day and screwed up the windshield.

Looks like dried up chemical of some sort.down here in south fla with the heat ,the car wash detergent will bake on glass and cause embedded streaks and spots pita to remove.just rented a Camry with 5k on it the whole windshield is etched from a strong detergent and the swirls are horrific .

I've got stains on my paint and glass from a touchless car wash(before I knew better). The wash did a crappy job of rinsing, so the heat drying at the end baked on streaks of soap. I've taken care of the painted parts, but the glass is still stained. Clay didn't help. What would be the next more aggressive step after clay? 0000 steel wool?
