What's you detailing product that you keep around but don't really use

I have a few "duds" lying around.

One colossal dud is Collinite 520 QD spray.

As much of a fan of the Collinite line as I am, this sh!t just plain sucks ass.

I try to use it in my shop to wipe down my mowers when they get dusty in the summer.

This stuff. I know I’m supposed to like it and I’m supposed to use it to top P&S coatings but I just can’t bring myself to enjoy using it. There are so many other sealants I like as a topper for coatings. I’m not sure if my disdain stems from childhood trauma resulting from my dad always buying orange “drink” instead of actual orange juice or it’s just the sheer amount of hype from YouTubers that set my expectations too high.

If you’re a detailer in the Charlotte, NC area and would like a gallon of Renny Juice just holla.

I don't have a problem with BM.

It's a solid QD for dust and fingerprints. Smells great too.

That said, it certainly isn't a "WOW" product. Never has been, IMO

It’s a spray sealant, not a quick detailer for dust!lol

That's what they tell you Californians.

You can actually polish, shine tires, and make certain soup bases with it on the East Coast.........

You should put a disclaimer and mention that your truck is silver. Silver swirl? Lol. J/k

I honestly don't get the hype either. It's not bad but not life changing like so many make it out to be.

It went on easy and there was great gloss and slickness. In my limited experience it was less hydrophobic than the coating (Legend) I topped it with. According to Renny it can be used in just about any application so maybe I can water my veggie garden with it. It’s worth a shot.

I like that with Dream Maker.

I arrived at Bead Maker much later than most, but ended up really liking it. For me, I'm not using it for protection or water beading, I just like how it looks, feels and smells.

In my opinion, I think the hype that surrounded the product did Bead Maker a disservice. Perhaps people expect too much from it? Perhaps there is a lot of user error or misuse as well? What I mean by that is P&S originally designed the product as a sealant, one that requires a heavy initial application to achieve the durability and water behavior. Except somehow Bead Maker became a "drying aid", where a simple mist and wipe became the accepted application. And this is where I think a lot of people go wrong with Bead Maker, the hype suggests water beading and longevity, something not really achieved by a mist/wipe application.

Please know I'm not knocking anyone who doesn't like Bead Maker, and I fully understand that, I have similar views on certain products that other people seemingly love too. I also tend to look at things from all angles to better understand products, and why they do or don't work for some people.

Well when your coming from OTC Turtle Wax and Mother’s….. in comparison, stuff is astounding…

I’m like you with BM only with DM. Like the feel of applying and it does amp up gloss.

One of my goals this summer is High gloss topped with Shinee wax topped with DM.

Have you tried Shinee?

Have not tried Shinee.

How do you apply Dream Maker?

I wanted to like Dream Maker, but I just can't get it to work without it being streaky or hard work. I have tried varying the amount I use, on dry or damp towels, direct onto the paint or sprayed into a towel...............nothing seems to work. Same story with Wowo's Showstopper.

I apply to dry towel. 3 sprays to prime and 1-2 sprays per panel when needed.

I buff off with second 365 gsm towel and then do a final wipe with TRC Everest. Best final buff towel I’ve used.
