What's your favorite product to detail your dash?

Im surprised no one has mentioned Optimum Protection Plus. Its very matte. I like DP too and have Ultima and 1Z but havent tried either yet.

Did you try Sonax Dashboard or Ultima Interior Guard Plus?

I can promise you you'll find no oily!

Cee Dog that was an impressive write up!! I definitely like the results you obtained with the UIGP and the Sonax (the pics were awesome!). You definitely know your products, since I joined the forum I've paid attention to your postings and I've always been impressed. They are always very detailed and informative.....which help those like myself who are trying to learn how to detail (the proper way) and enjoy pampering their cars.

After the majority of post were giving the thumbs up to the 1z cockpit premium I thought I had found the one. Now after viewing your post I've just added two more products to my wishlist. Too many decisions! Not enough time to detail.

I just went out and tried my Finish Kare Top Coat that I received with this mornings delivery. I like it! Applied with a MF, it spreads well and is no where near greasy. Darkens the dash without leaving a film or visible residue. It's not glossy, which I like. It claims to cut down on the attraction of dust, which I can't comment on yet, I have high hopes though!

Thanks Cee Dog; perfect timing - I was about to ask for recommendations but this thread and your review(s) made it simple. I will order the Ultima Interior Guard Plus.

Great review write-ups by the way.

Thanks, Cliff

Thank you Cliff, I hope you like it as much as I do!

You are very kind! I really appreciate your comments!!

Keep in mind I haven't tried the 1Z yet... but this caused me to go take a look at my stash. I knew Tad shared one of the 1Z interior products with me and sure enough its the cockpit premium!!! I'm going to have to get into it this weekend!

I took a sniff to see what it smells like and its a VERY familiar scent. It smells like some kind of specific brand of soap or shampoo I've smelled before like maybe 15 years ago. Can anybody place it for me?

Duragloss #203 and FlashWax (local vendor) Presto. Both look and smell good while leaving a natural, non greasy sheen. I usually go with the Presto because it's a local mom and pop store, but the Duragloss is very similar.

Been using 1Z CP for years, but found Sonax which smells better.

Is this just a cleaner but has no protectant ?

I got confused as well. I was asking Tad about it and he mentioned he coats with 303AP afterwards. I went to the AG description and it looks like mostly a cleaner but it does leave something behind. I think it leaves something behind that slightly affects the look but does not have protective qualitys.

It's funny, the 1st one I used back in my OTC days was Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer. I've since tried 303 and PBW Natural Look and have to say I've recently switched back to Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer for my dash. It's very quick and easy to use, has a nice matte finish, it's cheap and readily available OTC. Of course YMMV. //bluegoose//

I can't place the smell of 1Z CP. But I think 1Z V+R smells like bars of Ivory soap.

DP Total Interior Cleaner

this is the best. it's a cleaner that has some protection. you can also buy the potectant.

DP Interior Surface Protectant

low gloss, anti static. the best!

:iagree: 110%!!!

I like the DP cleaner & DP protectant. They do a great job, and leave a nice matte finish.

I also will throw in a vote for SONAX Dashboard. Its an excellent product and is quickly becoming one of my absolute favourites!
