Whats your go to Microfiber Detergent right now and why?

All free + clear plus a cup of vinegar, give or take the size of the load. I've had no issues at all...

Been using 3D Towel Kleen for the last year with great results. No need for vinegar in the rinse and at $17 per gallon it's less expensive than even traditional laundry detergents.

I'm seriously wondering how many people put vinegar (acid) in with their detergent (alkaline).

FWIW MicroRestore rinses so easily there is no need for vinegar in the rinse cycle, just as the poster above says about 3D Towel Kleen.

I bet you don't even need an acid in the rinse cycle.

Go test ph and I bet it's neutral. It uses a ton of water and agitation to easily rinse soap.

I bought one when they first came out....Used it for half of a carwash.....cannot find it now......I'm better off without it

This is what I do. But I don't even bother with vinegar anymore. Just a little bit all free and clear.

I really cut down on laundry detergent for all my laundry. I was using too much.

One time I ran a second rinse and I was amazed how much more soap was being squeezed out so I don't put much in at all now

Laundry detergent and an OxyClean presoak if they are bad. I've tried microfiber detergents and I don't notice a difference.

Most domestic-use laundry detergents are definitely basic (alkaline), in order to actively clean most typical laundry soils (dirt, sweat, blood, proteins) which are usually acidic. While the pH of the rinse water solution may be close to neutral, the concern is that certain compounds remain bonded to the polyester and polyamide fibers of our towels or pads. These compounds still tend to be alkaline as they have yet to release; had they done their job and dissolved the embedded soils (which tend to be acidic), then the compounds themselves would not bond to the microfibers.

However, because microfiber towels as used by detailers are most often used to clean surfaces with the use of an alkaline agent, most of the soils now in these cloths are actually basic (alkaline), so the use of household laundry detergent is not as effective as using a dedicated cleaning product designed to remove these soils.

Adding vinegar to the wash cycle neutralizes your detergent. Vinegar (acetic acid) is very effective in the first rinse cycle, as it neutralizes and helps dissolve any remaining alkaline detergent residue; a second rinse gets rid of any resulting salts and oils.

Maybe you only think your regular laundry detergent is getting your towels "just as clean" but I doubt it.

Oh, and have you priced laundry detergent? I can't find any half decent detergent that costs 40¢ a full load. Seems to me I'm not the one getting fooled.

My Experience: 2 oz. Micro Restore (.55 cents)/ Load=Stained Towels

My Experience: 3 oz. All F. & C. (.32 cents)/Load=Clean Towels
Maybe you would like to switch back; you don't need a full cap-full of laundry detergent.

I don't have any experience with any MF detergent other than Micro Restore. Micro Restore left stains in my towels, which made me question its cleaning ability and what was being left behind in the fibers. I used All Free & Clear to remove the stains, so I concluded, "Why use anything other than a good laundry detergent." I don't have to pay shipping on laundry detergent, it works everytime, and is cheaper. I don't see a benefit, on my end, to using these special MF cleaners. Why others see a difference and use it is beyond me. To each his own.

I did it too with laundry detergent, I am just a beginner in auto detailing, I saw the product when I was ordering everything I need for my car, the feedbacks were good, and I decided to take a shot, will see how it's works with dirty ones :)

For awhile now i have been using a product called MicroRestorer made by a small company here in northeast ohio. They sell it for 20 bucks a gallon. It creates a nice sudsy wash and the towels come out pretty clean.

I have noticed on the towels that i use to wash and dry wheels or really dirty parts of the car that not all contaminants are removed from the towels with one wash cycle.

I have been looking at the offerings on AG and wondering if the increased price will net me increased results. Thus far on AG it has been true each time. Don't know why i'm still second-guessing this....

Use to use Tide Coldwater, that's what we have in the house, and it definitely made my MF stiff. Discolored as well, but that (I think) doesn't matter.

Since purchasing some higher end MF I went with GC MF wash, available on amazon. So far, all my towels are like new, but time will still tell.

Blackfire. Ive tried several others and even All Free and Clear. I know its expensive but IME its always done a stellar job.

Maybe I do something wrong but I have used micro restore and Blackfire and both did not really impress me many towels do not soak up water easily. Stains did not come out etc.

a lot of interesting feedback thanks everyone! here's the video essentially microfiber washing 101
