whats your one step

I like using M105 or M205 with hydo polishing pad for flat white LC pad. If it is a light metallic or white I like XMT360
M205 + Hydrotech Orange or M205 + LC flat white?

I assume that those two combinations work well for light to moderate swirls on Japanese cars with softer paints, correct? Does the Hydrotech combo finish okay for softer paints?

Thanks.

I'm confused. It seems some people are using just a polish as their one step??? I was under the impression that a one step would be a polish with protection built in??? Something like Klasse AIO?? Are there any non chemical polishes (abrasive) that have protection built in as well???

I use a white CCS pad with Menzerna Super Finish as our one step. If the customer wants more correction, they have to pay for it. I then top with our standard carnauba wax Collinite 915 or Auto Glym HD Wax.

Yes, some people are referring to a polish that gives good correction and finishes well with no added protection as a one step polish. That would be a one step correction process, typically followed by a sealant/wax.

Polishes mentioned like XMT360, PB's PwS and Meg's D151 ARE abrasive polishes that have protection built in, these are the type of products I assume you were expecting to be mentioned.

Something like Klasse AIO??

Klasse AIO is more of a chemical cleaner than a polish, it is not abrasive. Don't expect any correction from it, I do love the stuff for what it does though! :xyxthumbs:

PB, polish with sealant is simply awesome stuff its choice

+1 on Klasse AIO. I am amazed everytime I use it... I think it is a little under-rated for its cleaning power. :xyxthumbs:

Meguiar's D151 is awesome stuff. Check out this Jag I detailed using it.

What is the "technique" for a one step? I am working a 3 step on my vehicle and it is taking FOREVER. I want to work on other people's cars, but I don't want it to take so long.

I have CCS pads, would you recommend orange, or white for a moderate swirls? Also, how many passes and at what speed/pressure?

Sorry, I'm a newb

Just a question...do you have to tape off the car when using these one-step polishes? Or will they leave a big mess to clean up? It sure would be nice not to have to do that...it takes me FOREVER! But, I am new to machine polishing, so maybe I'll get better at it...

I don't tape with Poli-Seal. Perhaps other products are different.

I would take the time and tape the vehicle you don't want to get your product on the trim
