Good evening everyone,

I will be picking up a set of wheels and then have them powdercoated right away.

I am wondering, what is the best protectant coat out there to make it easier to clean my wheels and to help protect it from minor nicks.

i would like to apply it before I mount my wheels because my car produces heavy brake dust.

I have been recommended CQuartz and 22PLE. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you!
Keith

I don't know I always thought of my wheels as more of a Buddhist...

Hmm back to the real question, I don't know how powder coating will affect the ability a sealant to bond to it since there's no clear coat. The reason for the Quartz and 22PLE and coating like recommendations are because a majority of wheels are clear coated like paint. But with powder coating I don't know if they are as well.

With wheels though most protectants will get beaten up pretty good in day to day driving, but it will help make brake dust stick less. What kind of car is it and stock brakes?

Best bet is change to low brake dust pad when they wear off :D
I had my wheels coated with quartz 3 layer ad they still runs dirty...

The wheels will still have a cleat coat on them.

I have an Evo X.

I know it will get dirty regardless, its more of a step to make it easier to clean.

So is this thread for non-Catholics only then?

...I couldn't resist...sorry.

Wheels; 'Coating'; Protestant:
Depending upon the Protestant Denomination/Sect...
Is this a thread about "Holy Rollers"?

I'm with Bob. Screw the wheel coating. I'd just get a Protestant to bless your wheels. I'm sure that will protect them longer than any wheel coating.

I used wheelguard from CG when I had my evo. High temp wax/sealant. Cheap price but good shine and protection against heat and brake dust. Made it easy to clean.
