Wheel Sealants vs. Wheel Protectant Spray

The armour all protectant has reduced my wheel cleaning from every drive to every wash.

Until they make a sealant that has similar function I will continue to use it.

I've had this one 8oz can of the AA for about a month now applying to two different rides every other week and I am notcing that I am spending less time cleaning my wheels. Does it keep it clean 100% entirely ... nope but I'd say it's reduced the amount of dust and dirt by at least 50% :xyxthumbs:

It's very easy to apply and has worked so i concur with the above statement !

I've never used a dedicated wheel protectant but always waxed my wheels. At best this approach has been OK at best. I'm certain that waxing provides some protection but brake dust and road film are two tough items so contend with.

As part of my recent order I included a DP Wheel Glaze. From what I've read it's supposed to be pretty good. My 2004 Z06 puts out allot of dust, especially on the front wheels. My plan is to use DP Wheel Glaze on one and wax on the other, I'll let you know how it does and if there's any difference.

Let me know what you think. I have got the DP Wheel Glaze and drive a BMW. I could not find that much difference between using it and not using it. Yes the wheel stays a bit cleaner but in the end the wheels get way too dirty anyhow. I am thinking of giving the AA spray a try but don't think it is worth the price right now (Yes I know they have the coupon but still).

here's a question. Why even bother using a dedicated "wheel" sealant whether it be spray or liquid?

Since most rims/wheels are clear coated, why not just use ANY liquid sealant or ANY spray sealant/wax? i.e. OCW, DG AW, Optiseal, UPGP, WGDGPS, 4StarUPP, I could go on.

Right on.

As a follow-up, I just washed my car and I noticed that the wheels were much easier to clean than before. I just used some diluted OPT and the wheels are sparkling. As some of you may know BMWs have way too much break dust. I am still on the fence whether it is worthwhile to apply the wheel glaze as it takes a lot of time or whether not applying it is just as good.

I've used Poor boy's wheel sealant, an the protection is minimum to none, and to give it a 3 coats for better protection I found it easier to just spray some QD on a plush MF an wipe away the BD in between washes.
I drive an 04' Audi A8 an Audi cars are just notorious on brake dust.

Just for giggles in my recent order i received i got some Collenite 845, maybe ill try that..

So for me a sealant really didnt work out for me. I think itll be easier to change to ceramic pads then to continue a losing battle, Maybe then the PB wheel sealer will work..
