looking for a rim/wheel and tire cleaner.

Reading on D101, everyone loves it, but i see videos where its used only on tires...never the rims

So im curious before i order....is D101 safe on ALL wheels?

I have aftermarket #### Cepek DC-2 wheels i want to keep in perfect shape

My wifes ENVOY has delicate factory chrome wheels....

Would it be better to buy the D14301 non acid wheel and tire cleaner or will D101 be a better choice?

D143 all the way. I dilute it 2:1
Just make sure your wheels are not sensitive to both acidic or alkaline cleaners. i.e. bare aluminum wheels.

Some people use D101 to clean wheels. Nothing wrong with using it @10:1. It's at cleaning tires where it kinda sucks compared to D143. And if you use it straight undiluted like I've seen some people recommend it at.. Forgetaboutit. Those fumes are so strong they'll nearly choke you out. Lol.

Even when D101 is undiluted, I still think D143 @ 2:1 cleans tires better. Lol.

You might want to consider a quality wheel brush If those wheels are as delicate as you say. People rave about the Wheel Whoolie.

I use a microfiber towel to scrub my wheels...

Most of the time they are clean enough that if i hit them with the foam cannon and then give a light scrub with a towel they are spotless when im done.

Sometimes, the brake dust and grime can get pretty stubborn to remove, this year i want a good rim specific cleaner that wont damage anything

But i dont use a brush, i use a semi worn out microfiber towel...then i can get in the little areas with my hand to make sure its clean

I mainly use Megs Non Acid.

For really bad wheels I use Megs Wheel Brightner.

yea none of the wheels i work on are really bad....

put it this way, regular car wash soap (duragloss).. with a microfiber towel and 5 min of elbow grease usually gets them pretty clean...sometimes it takes more scrubbing

That is using a car was soap....not designed for brake dust at all....hints why i want to try a no acid wheel cleaner to help remove brake dust/grime

It will clean better, faster, and the scrubbing will be to a minimum

I use D108 and dilute it down for many purposes. Love it on tire sidewalls.
