Wheel Wednesday!

I finally removed these nasty water spots that were left from using Armor All Ceramic Wash.

Wheel Saturday actually, the tension listening to my team go into golden point extra time made me look for something to do. So I cleaned the wheels on the Qashqai, they've got 303 Touchless Sealant on them so all they needed was a spray of some QD, Car Chem Hydro this time, and a wipe over with a "wheel cloth", an MF that's been downgraded from all other duties. Also gave the tyres a top-up with Carpro Perl, curious to see what it does for the big rubber on the FJ.

And my team won, by one point in extra time, for the second time in a week.

The constant rainy days are getting annoying, but I found something to do. You can see from the close up how light, but annoying this rain is, the 303 Touchless is still holding up well, note the beading picking up the brake dust. I decided to go with Ech2o this time, sprayed liberally, then wiped away with an old MF, which worked well, they tidy up so easily with Touchless protecting them. The Carpro Perl on the tyres is holding up quite good, but close up I can see it has attracted some dirt or dust, so the next full wash will include some Hyper Foam on the tyres.

If I was to go out and buy an SUV tomorrow, it would be hard to look at anything other than a Jaguar F-Pace. The combination of exterior design, the engines offered, the simple but elegant interior and the superb chassis dynamics all do it for me. Clearly, my younger sister agreed, because she ended up buying one a few years ago. In this case, it was a R-Sport 20d RWD in Fuji White with the black interior. Not my choice of spec, I'd want a contrast interior color, and not the 2.0 diesel engine.

The wheels on this car were the Style 5038 Twin Spoke 19-inch items with a diamond turned Finish and grey painted inner spokes. As I've mentioned in the past, I love machined face wheels.

I can't remember exactly what I used on this car, most likely NV Purge for the wheels and Shine Supply Wise Guy for the tires................this was slightly before having multiple products that do the same thing.

I do however remember what tire dressing I used, Autoglym High Performance Tyre Gel. Why? Because after driving around the corner and back to take those photos, I noticed the sides of the vehicle covered in black dots.................tire sling. As with most solvent based products, it lived up to its reputation and was binned shortly after. :nomore:

Awesome results! We're preparing the truck for the local truck show and have to polish the Fuel Triton chrome wheels after mounting the Nitto tires from 4Wheelonline tomorrow.

Chrome wheels are something that seemingly rarely actually needs to be polished, but when a difference can be made it’s usually worth the time & effort… And then the next day your neighbors sprinklers come on.lol.

They come clean though, just wish I didn’t have to but for that I use something like this for quick wipedowns.

As far as todays wheels, nothing too flashy, however I wasn’t really expecting these barrels to come fully clean like this. So much that I contemplated skipping them altogether, good thing I decided to not skimp on using the barrel brush.

From Big Dave

The Qashqai's wheels were looking a bit dirty, so I broke out the Wheely Clean, made easy work of it with plenty of bleed off, the fronts were much worse than the back. They do have 303 Touchless Sealant on them, but it's been a few months since that was applied. Finished off with Carpro Perl on the tyres.

I tried some Polish Angel Supersport PTFE as a coating topper on my wheels. Left a super high gloss and great depth on the gloss black. Hopefully it should last a while.
