I typically spray tire dressing on the wheel well to make them look black and clean (use some leftover Meguiars hot shine). I hate to see a clean car with a dirty wheel wells. I'm looking for some cheap dressing, preferably in gallon sizes, that I can use for wheel wells because I don't want to use my good stuff.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks...Al

I'm not sure what you consider cheap as what is cheap to me may be expensive to you and vice versa but bare bones by CG is made specifically for that purpose.

megs hyper dressing diluted 1:3 (1 part product to 3 parts water) and one gallon will last you forever...

I will also agree with HyperDressing. Now I will spray it on and give the wheel well a wipe down but th SOWA works well too

Discontinue use of tire dressing as a wheel well dressing. Im pretty certain the wells are going to be caked with crap from the oily dressing. I like the results from CG Bare Bones. Im sure the Megs stuff works the same.

We've done a few wheels-off details lately and love the results; for both the wheels and the wells. Just pick the right products.

Yes, Yes, and Yes.

Barebones is good, comes in gallon size, and Hyper Dressing is a great choice as well.

I use APC to clean the wheel wells, and dress them with CG Black on Black; but that comes in an aerosol can at $10 a can. It's a spray and walk away, no need to wipe or spread.

Griots undercarriage spray is by far my favorite. It's not super cheap, but not too spendy either. It also comes in gallon size and it does a great job at "darkening"

This is just my opinion, but why would you buy a product that is super expensive to dress wheel wells? Hyper dressing is dilutable which in turns is cheaper depending on shine you want. I mix mine 1:1 for tires and wells.

The wheel wells in my Grand Cherokee have a carpet material, what do you guys recommend to use as a dressing/protectant?

You may try an interior guard on that type of material, such as Gtechniq I1.

Bare Bones is one of the worst CG products. It doesn't last very long and is basically only good for a few days. Their Blue Guard II on the other hand, is a pretty good product.

I'll probably go the HyperDressing route when my Blue Guard is used up.

For plastic wells, a tire dressing should work fine. For metal wells such as pickups then the oily ones may offer more. I use something like Solution Finish or Ultima on plastics. It seems to be more durable.

303 high tech fabric guard or Cquartz fabric and leather coating

Thanks zerix & nezff

I have BF interior protectant and was about to try it on those carpeted wheel wells but then thought I'll be wasting product coz I don't think a protectant designed for interiors can handle that kind of dirt & road grime..
Maybe a coating like you guys suggested (Gtechniq, CQ & 303) would be good enough, any similar products from CG, Meg's, Sonax or 3D/HD? (Those I can buy locally)

I wouldn't use interior protectant on carpet. its not designed for that.
The cheapest route is 303 high tech fabric guard. You can get a bottle to try from amazon like I did. Then I bought a gallon from Autogeek.

Wow, thanks for the suggestions. The cost is not bad at all.
