Applied OC 2.0 to my entire truck. Looks great, even in the sun, except for the wheel wells. I clean them regularly with a brush, but they have a dull appearance and although I have 20" rims, they don't fill the space enough to hide the wheel wells. Any solution to this problem that has lasting effects?

Thanks

Carpro dlux is the solution. It is a true trim coating. So if you like Opti-coat then you will love dlux. I'm sure other will recommend WETS and UTTG+ but those are dressing and do not offer the durability of dlux.

I like Sonus Trim and Motor Kote for this as it last quits a while. Spray the wheel well, walk away and let it dry and even out. No wiping required.

i like CG bare bones. it does what its suppose to do and it lasts for a while

+1 on DLUX

Make sure you get the wheel wells very clean and do an IPA wipedown prior to application

i scrub the wheel wells every wash and don't expect any dressing to last long there. megs hyper dressing diluted 3:1 works well, just spray and walk away and there's really no need to wipe it down...

Agree with this one. I use it for the engine, frame, any under carraige part and it lasts a long time.

I sprayed my wheel wells once with "dressing"... Next time I went to wash the car (I always clean the wheel wells with the big Wheel Woolie) they were gross and sticky. Dunno.

I tried several tire dressings & Griot's Undercarriage Spray.
They all attracted dust and inevitably got some overspray on the paint.

Switched over to DLUX:

- Zero Dust attraction
- Easier to clean than ever
- Nice dark color
- Lasts several months
- No overspray

A less expensive option is Sonus Motor Kote, which performs well if you follow the directions exactly. It does not last as long and does not seem to stay as clean as DLUX...but it is less expensive.

That's why I don't like most products for this step. I'd rather have an ugly clean dry surface that will clean easy than a oily, gooey mess.

Also, for anyone reading this into the future cleaning wheel wells can be kind of tricky due to clearance reasons. Here's a tip to get more clearance without having to remove the wheels and tires.

How to clean fender wells the lazy way!
