wheels only

I find that just about any good APC works as a tire and wheel cleaner. I just use LATA most of the time.

Sometimes I use one of "color changers", DUB or Griots. DUB on sale is pretty cost effective. I believe most of the wheel cleaners that change color have various surfactants to aid in cleaning where IronX may not. It's more a dedicated iron product and not more of an AIO so to say.

I believe acid wheel cleaners attack iron also.

This is exactly the type of routine that could lead to the product drying on the wheel.^

There's no benefit of allowing dirty lather to dwell on any surface, whether it's leather or wheels. Even car wash soap works best when it's rinsed off immediately the paint.

All it takes is a hot summer day and a distraction like your cell phone ringing... And next thing you know you forgot to rinse the wheels and you're blaming everything on acid. Lol.

Ha, this is why I don't use acid cleaners anymore. I have a hard time not letting cleaners dwell too long, and believe I ruined a set of wheels doing just like you said above.

At what dilution do you use LATA to clean tires and factory clearcoated wheels?

I think it works well at 3:1.

I've been wanting try some acid again on some of the nasty wheels I run into.

Why, LATA doesn't quite cut it for those jobs? Try some Brown Royal. It walks all over WB.

What ratio do you use Brown Royal at Eldo?

I think I've seen some pics of a set of wheels you've done with it.

2:1 but I kind of regret having mixed up my last gallons yield of concentrate at that dilution. While it works well/above average at that dilution, I wish I would've done it at least 1:1 or better yet saved at least a small portion of the undiluted nectar for those times when you have to go absolutely nuclear on some wheels...

I plan on buying another gallon once I run out, but next time I won't dilute it at their recommended 2:1 for maintenance wheel cleaning. While it does work above average for that task @2:1, I can nearly match that with other wheel cleaners.. But other wheel cleaners can't match this stuff at any dilution when this is used 1:1 or straight.

It still works great for the power punch @2:1, but moderate agitation is required on those caked on wheel barrels. [unless you've got the wheels off for easy access]

LA totally Awesome. An APC. I see this in the Dollar Store all the time.

Thanks I've even used it before and didn't remember lata duh.

It's not the end all be all of APCs/wheel cleaners, but it does a good job for the price!
