When do you work on headlights/chrome trim in the detail process?

I am getting ready to do a full detail on my car for an upcoming concours event.

Car is 94 Jaguar XJS and I will be using Wolfgang twins for correction followed by WGDGS and Souveran. Have GG6, GG3 and various Motherballs.

My questions are as follows.

1) What products will I need for chrome trim and lights? (They are both in excellent condition)

2) When in the process should I work on them? Before or after the paint?

Many thanks,

Allan

I would suggest working on them last, as part of the final inspection of the car, and since they are in 'excellent condition' you shouldn't need more that a one-step product (or even just a glass cleaner applied to a towel first) to bring up the gloss.

Thanks Don! Makes sense.

What I meant by excellent condition is that there are no scratches or pits in the chrome and no chips, cracks or yellowing in the lights.

Cheers,

Allan
