When drying with a leaf blower...

I've been using a backpack blower to dry for well over 10 years now and have never had any issues. For me, it's much quicker than towel drying without any touching of the paint. It also works much better to expel water from mirrors, door handles, trim, and other crevices.

Only aim the blower at the car. Make sure the ground around it is all wet, if not spray the hose. This should eliminate that problem. Any other dust you see is probably just floating around in the air and would end up on the paint anyway.

Yeah, after washing the car, I drove it into the garage to dry it in the shade. But I am sure the dust in the garage didn't help my cause even though I was trying to aim the blower only at the car. Next time, I will dry it outside and see if it makes a difference.

Yeah I would say that is definitely the problem. There's so much sitting dust in garages.
