When is it too cold?

So I'de like to get another detail on my car before winter comes, last one (and first) was in April. We're going to have some pretty clear days this weekend but its only going to be low 50's outside... is it too cold to do it now?

Ill be using all Poorboy's products with PC...

Black Hole
EX Sealant
Natty's Blue (couple days after)

You will be fine. I try and not do any detailing work under the mid 40,s. Then it is too cold out to do anything in my book.
 
I was asking myself the same question, because it's also aroud 50F here and I want to do my car during the week-end.

thanks for the quick reply! glad to know i can squeak it in before it gets really cold. i should have done it last month but put it off, of course it went from 80 to 50 overnight (seemed like).
 
How about in the garage with a Kerosine heater in the corner :)
 
if only i was so lucky lol. unfortunately i live in an apartment, so i work under a car port with a 100' electrical cord to trip my neighbors
 
I live in a townhouse with no garage... so I detail this chicks car for her once a year and she lets me use her 2.5 car garage whenever I want :) Find a friend with a garage and exchange some services

I have detailed with success in 45 to 50 degree weather. Just use QD on pad to keep moist if air is dry.:props:

a few times on this forum. Sorry Mike if I am miss quoting you, but I have taken from your posts that using a QD on a pad or on a paint surface is good for giving more moisture to work with.

Why would using a QD as a primer be bad? I usually use a pad conditioner like xmt but I don't see any reason why a QD would be bad.

Most spray detailers are meant to make paint look shiny or glossy and add a slick feeling to the paint, this is done with ingredients that you don't want to mix into the compounding process.

M34 is a body shop safe spray detailer so it doesn't have all these extra ingredients included in the formula that could interfere with the performance of compounds and polishes.

Meguiar's does all their field testing using M34 for applications like this so their recommendations are backed up by real world testing in body shops and detail shops around the U.S. and usually the world.

Pinnacle XMT Polishing Pad Conditioner can be used like M34 to help lubricate both the pad and the surface when machine cleaning and polishing.

When the heaters in my garage aren't working. :)Seriously though, when it is below 40 degrees my old arthritic bones won't play even if the water is warm.
