Hello All
I'm A newbie. I'm in Brooklyn N.Y. and I have been battling the elements trying to get my car (2005- Malibu L.S. Midnight Blue) ready for the Winter. I recently,(Thanksgiving Day), did A complete detail on my car. This was my first! I loved the results but they aren't eye-popping. Tomorrow I'm going to Polish the car with Sonus SFX 2 on A SFX 2 pad. Now comes my problem. I had A problem the other day applying Klasse AIO by hand and ended up using my UDM with A green Buffing bonnet over A SFX 3 final finish pad. Now tomorrow I want to apply the AIO after polishing then protect it with a coat of S100 wax. My question is this: what applications are better done by hand?I personally feel like Buffing can't possibly be done as well by hand as it can be done with the UDM. What about applying and removing the AIO. Hand or Machine? The Wax. Hand or Machine. I would Love to hear your opinions and why you do it the way you do. Thanks In Advance for your help and advice.

I have found that polishes, waxes, and paint sealants all should be applied via hand. Removal can be hand or machine based upon personal preference. When you get a chance move from Sonus polish to Menzerna and you may find that extra sparkle you are looking for !

AIO -- should not be hard to remove. Remember with all sealants, light coating.

Souveran and Zymol EG waxes are the only LSPs I apply by hand. Machine is faster, easier and more even for me for any other wax/sealant.
I only polish by hand if the machine can't fit in the space (behind door handles). I think it is harder to break down polishes by hand.
Removal by machine has never appealed to me.
You can by something like OS as an LSP and wipe on and walk away. It doesn't get easier than that.

You prefer to polish by hand?

Thanks everybody for your replies. I'm leaning towards this routine. Polish - Apply and remove by Machine followed by a hand buffing then I think I'l apply the AIO by hand and remove by machine followed by a good hand buffing again. Then with the Wax I'll apply and remove the P21S by hand followed by a good machine buffing then A good hand buffing with a QD. I do have another question.. When using the machine to buff, I have two Sonus DAS Buffing bonnets. Can I use those over the SFX 3 final finish Pad? Also can you use the same buffing bonnet for different products or will you get cross contamination if you use the same bonnet for polish, AIO, and WAX? Also does the pad used under the bonnet have to be clean or can I use it to buff then cover it with a bonnet for the final machine Buffing?
