It seems like most brands have a spray wax and/or instant detailer that works great in between full details, except Collinite. Are you listening, Collinite? :)

I just asked Mark this last week. Nothing yet.

If they did, you'd probably get 3 months of beading from the spray wax and insane shine.

I've dispensed Collinite #845 Insulator Wax from
a Spray bottle so many times that I've lost count.

:)

Interesting.

How many ozs of wax to how much water ?

Do you add anything else or just mix those 2?

What is the application like ?

Thanks for sharing

He just said he's dispensed it out of spray bottle. Not he dilutes it and uses it as a spray wax.

Its not that thick, I imagine it would be easy to spray it.

If you warm up the 845, it's easily sprayable! There ya go! :)

I know Collinite is shooting for a little more forum visibility with their visit to AG and the accompanying giveaway thread, but when was the last time they introduced a new product? I don't think they have, in this century.

Although I guess they are under relatively new management, so you never know.

I just think there waxes are far apart from a durability aspect, and they have been around for ever so they just might be contempt on what they sell just great waxes. If they formulated a spray wax with the same kind of formulation it might hurt them on the back end of selling there can waxes.who knows, but if they did make a spray wax I will be the first to buy it.The closest would be reload.I don't like the brown formulation I prefer the old white product.

I may trying that spray bottle thing. I have some samples of Pinnacle spray wax I may mix with the 845 to thin it a little more.

Ha, I was going to look up the MSDS to perhaps suggest a solvent for thinning, but Collinite has taken the MSDS's off their website :dunno:

That might work, but then how will you know which wax is actually "doing the work"?
Collinite doesn't need a spray wax, there are enough of those already.

More info on your process, please :)
spray waxes are defined for quick simplicity.putting 845 or 476 in a spray bottle is a easy application, but in theory the same as waxing your car the traditional way.a clear transparent collinite easy to use spraywax would be awesome.wipe on wipe real quick with no streaking or hazing, that would be a product of the century.

It used to be listed on several sites as:

SOLVENT: (ONLY) PETROLEUM HYDROCARBON
(DX 3641 NAPHTHA)...CAS# 8030-30-6.

[MSDS] Collinite #845 Insulator Wax : 네이버 블로그

Things could change though: :dunno:

Ok, I mixed a 4 oz bottle of diluted 845 last night. I used Pinnacle Souveran spray wax in the amount of 2oz and then put 2 oz of 845 in and shook it up. My Jeep have been waxed with 845 about 5 weeks ago at least and then about 2 weeks ago when I washed it I wiped it down with the Souveran spray wax afterwards. We had some days of snow and salted roads since then and last weekend I just gave it a quick wet wash to get the salt off. I have been driving it all this week but the weather here was in the 60's and 70's. Last night I wiped the right side of the hood (looking from the front) with a wet Water Sprite and then sprayed the mystery concoction on. here are the photos of the results. the right side has the new spray and the left side of the hood crease is whats left from the previous 845/souveran wax job and spray down weeks later. There is a difference that you can visibly see and the liqiuid sprayed quite easily from the little 4 oz pump spray bottle. I think when I make my next batch I may go 25% 845 and 75% Souveran Spary Wax. Just keep it shaken up. There is a definite difference in the beading.

I kinda like the niche that Collinite has carved out; the way they have remained true to what got em where they are. I would hope that they wouldn't start getting greedy, going "Hollywood", and screwing up the magnificent product line they have that we love and respect.

Although I agree with this mindset, as well as good grammar (not you), I think a well thought out, well R&D'd "new" product from Collinite would be a welcomed item here, I mean even Chipotle added something new in the last couple years :hungry:
