So Last year when I moved home from FL I bought a 10x15 canopy from pepboys for $160. They don't have pepboys in STL or anywhere near. Well the tent was great but I used it one day to work on my Galaxie while it was raining. Well I left it up over night and the next day before I could get it down it poured and bent a section of the frame. The top got faded real bad too in the past year.

Well I was considering buying a new one anyways this year bc the black gets hotter under it. I wanted to get red. Anyways pepboys just stopped carring the 10x15 and the cheapest I can find is $250-300.

Anyone find any cheaper than that? Also I want a 10x15. I thought about doing 2 10x10 or 2 12x12's that would be very nice!

I got my 10x10 pop up from harbor freight. 60 bucks with discount. In Hialeah.

I'm seriously thinking about getting 2 12x12 canopies. I'm just not sure if it will ridiculously big. I know with my 10x15 it fits most cars but not long ones. The extra 2 feet on the sides I bet would come in handy with opening doors.

Sears has them with free shipping for 109 EA. I don't like the blue. I want green or red preferably.

From what I've heard you want to stay away from the slant legs and go with the straight leg tents.

Hey ShineTime, Ol'Pal...

I'm wondering how slanted your legs are going to get toting-around, and setting-up, a 110lb tent, such as you've linked above!!

{ YIKES...HMMMM...Should I stop kidding around with ya?!?! LOL. }

Nice price for that size tent. :xyxthumbs:

:)

PS...
oh I'm back in STL already.

Glad we didn't have to send out the search party again! :D

kmart has some good prices on some 10x12's forget the prices but not bad at all and i believe there sierra's theres another site if you use the google shopping feature and sort low to high you can find some nice 10x10 ez-upII's for a good price....

Sports Authority - about 200$ for straight leg 12x12 canopies

Difficult to do much better ime without ending up with junk. Unless you get a great sale of course.

Sears has the 12/12 for $110 each. I'm torn between a 10/20 or 2 12/12s

I purchased a Quest 10x10 at ####'s Sporting Goods slant leg. It does help fight the sun from beating down on the surface of the vehicle, but I've found that 10x10 is just too small. When I decide to purchase another one, I will be going with a 10x20 in order to fit longer vehicles, such as trucks and SUV's under it. The only complaint I have using canopies is that the sun rotates around exposing the surface of the vehicle to direct sunlight. To combat this issue I was thinking of purchasing side walls for which ever canopy I elect to get next time. I would also suggest getting the sandbags to weight down the legs to keep the thing as stationary as possible.

I plan on getting side walls too. I use 4 cinder blocks to weigh mine down.

I think I saw Mike Phillips say once to tie the canopy to 5-gallon buckets filled with water. That way you don't have to lug concrete blocks around all over.

:iagree:+one. Tom Weed has two of these set up and leaves them up all summer with no problem. Sure would be easier for a mobil guy then cement blocks.

I disagree with the buckets. What if you have 2 jobs at different locations? That's 40 gallons of wafted that you carry around. That's 320 lbs...say its just 1 job that's 160 lbs...

For the average mobil guy at a residential setting I would prefer the water they could provide. I also like the idea of 160 lbs holding down the canopy. I think the four buckets would look more professional. I have two buckets now with the gamma lids and plan on picking up two more for this summer when we go mobil. But if cinder blocks or cement blocks work for you thats great.

Purchased my canopy at Sports Authority. All the canopies I had seen had legs which were two sections which made them too long to fit in my cars. Sports Authority carried a canopy (10'x10' or 12'x12'...can't remember) with three section legs. Besides that, it was late in the season and all were marked down.

With the shorter collapsed size it fits in all my cars.
