Any abandoned airstrips near you?

Thanks for the idea, I looked on google maps for about 30 minutes and zoomed in on about 4 different old strip locations I had found on the internets. 3 of them are gone now houses over them.... The other one is on an island. I guess I just need to build an amphibious hull around my skybaby! LOL

You were all born in the wrong era.

While I was growing up there was NO speed limit in Nevada. Of course outside of Vegas and Reno there were no people either. I remember driving along with my Dad and I could not keep up with his 58 Vette. I was driving a 57 Caddy vert. And it would do 115 all day long. At least after an electric fuel pump was installed at the tank to prevent vapor lock. Anyone old enough to remember vapor lock?

Now if you try to have any fun on a totally deserted road through the wasteland some Cop airplane will get you.

Yeah, that sounds great! I wish they would get rid of those speed limits out in the middle of nowhere where you don't see another car for 10 minutes or more at a time... Especially in a desert area! Not like a deer is going to come out of nowhere!

There are still plenty of places in NV that you can cruise at 100+ for miles on end. I heard of some guy that did 97 miles in one hour while driving through part of it...
