Good Afternoon Geeks,

I have a client that recently ordered a 2015 Bentely Continential GT Speed. He is considering having it coated with OptiCoat (I'm an authorized installer) and also having the entire vehicle covered with XPEL.

I'm reaching out to those with greater experience, with this specific situation. Which comes first...OptiCoat or PPF?

Thanks!

Hey, here's their FAQ. It's half way down, they say to not apply CQ or OC prior.
https://www.xpel.com/support/installation/faq.asp

From them:

"Can/should Opticoat or cQuartz be applied to the car before the film is installed?"

We do NOT recommend applying sealants such as Opticoat or cQuartz to the parts of the car that will be covered with film. The low surface energy of paint sealant products such as these will cause adhesion problems both during installation and over the life of the product. In addition, it is worth noting that there is really no benefit to applying sealant to the paint before the film anyway, since the film will provide far more environmental protection to the paint than a sealant ever could.

Whatever you do, post pics, that Bentley is a sweet car. :)

I know cleanmycorolla I've read that FAQ from XPEL's Website.

PPF with coating on top. That is my experience with CQuartz Finest!

Well since they state it interfers with the film, I'd lay the film first then coat the film. :xyxthumbs:

Are you doing both install, film and OC? If so nice pay day!:props:
If the owner lets you, snap photos, it's going to be sweet looking I'm sure :)

I'll only be performing the OptiCoat application, and the subsequent scheduled cleanings. I care for all of his vehicles.
