Which DA Machine? Griots or Meguiars?

Take a look at the Adams SK that they recently started selling. I bought one when they they were having 15% off Sale. To me it's a quality 15mm long throw at a good price. Smooth and quiet. I have a GG and this is a step above.

Thanks. Just went to their website. Very interesting and something to consider.

Just when I thought it was a lock, something to add to make my head spin a little more.

the megs DA's seem to have cord issues and with only a one year warranty, i would be hesitant on purchasing one especially considering it's cost around $200. also.. in most of the videos i have seen, it seems to bog down easily with pressure (vid below). i would get the GG6 without a doubt...

Thanks, Visitor. The Meg's is pretty much written off. Especially with only the one year warranty. Appreciate the videos.

:)

I don't see to many people using the griots 3" for more than a wax spreader.

I also use it for machine sanding using 3" sanding discs. And now with the BOSS Cremes and new 3" pads, I'm sure I'll use it for paint correction as well.

The Guz had that power cord issue. I bought my MT300 as an open box deal. I love it. Before my Flex machines came around, it replaced the GG6 as my go-to machine. NOTHING wrong with the GG6. I love that machine as well, but for ME, the MT300 suits me better.

Oddly enough, just last week, the G15 bogged down (stalled) on me doing a door. I was confused, as it was pretty darn flat. No problem. I pulled out the MT300 and finished with that tool. YMMV.

I'm not trying to sway you to consider the MT300. In fact, I'd actually suggest the GG6 as well. The MT300 is great, LOVE mine, but it seems hit or miss with different users. GG6 is mostly HIT.

Once I bought the G15, I figured I'd get rid of one of my others (PC, GG6, MT) but no. They ALL can serve a purpose! I think any tool you end up choosing will serve you well. Mine have.

Good luck and have fun :)

to the OP - another thing to consider is that GG customer service is excellent and they will take care of you if a problem should occur at anytime (peace of mind especially if you don't use it often). to me that's every bit as important as the product itself. i work hard for my money and do not want to put it in someone's pocket if they don't appreciate it and have non-existent/crappy customer service...

If you can stretch your budget...flex3401?

That's a big stretch. I sticking with getting the two I want for now, for less than the one Flex. They're good enough to learn on.
Thanks for the input, though.

Griots hand down. For the 6" and get a 3" plate as well.

Yup I had the power cord issue twice on the MT300 after doing 5 vehicles each time. Props to Meguiar's for fixing it both times. But I had to fight to get reimbursed one time for shipping costs. The second time was out of pocket. Supposedly Meguiar's has upgraded the internals parts to not have this issue on the newer machines.

The issue with the machine is what made me upgrade to the Rupes LHR15 MK2 because I never know if the MT300 is going to fail or not. I kept my PC7424XP as that just keeps on ticking.

To the Op, Meguiar's only offers a 1 year warranty on the MT300. The thing I like about the MT300 is the ergonomics. The PC just killed my hands with fatigue and numbness. The MT300 is a good polisher when it is working.

Never owned a GG6 and don't plan to.

- LOL - what's funny, is that each time I use mine, I wonder if it will be the day it fails. But it hasn't, thank goodness because...

- Yup, those ergonomics are what I love. That, and the very light weight feel. It's like a feather!

hmm, that's odd. some have had similiar issue(s) with the rupes mk2 as well..
Do you use a Rupes Bigfoot mk2 15? Is your machine faulty? - Detailing World

Thanks for the share. Update on that G15...I added the "washer mod" and it seems to have helped. I'll see where I am with the 21mkII when I get around to using that one more.

If you are using the Griots supplied washer, I found that 2 are needed because they are so thin. One was OK, but the second washer made a big difference with my G15.
