Which "Definitive Guide" Would YOU Like to See?

Hi Nick...

Since more than a few AGO members post-up inquiries regarding: 'Detailing for Money'...

How about a:
"Definitive Guide for a Successful Detailing Business"?

Now...I realize that in: Mr. Phillips' Articles archives that this subject is broached; but, I believe
this particular article of Mike's, along with the below graph (courtesy of Menzerna),
or one of a similar nature, could be incorporated into one of your "Definitive Guides".

Looking forward to your reply. Thanks!

I personally want to see a guide for "LAVA"

It's suppose to be very "new technology" "nothing like its kind" etc etc

I've seen a couple of forum members not happy with it

I personally don't see any beading or sheeting with it...so I would like to see a guide to Lava (plus show beading or sheeting pics) on a completely stripped painted surface (incase the sheeting/beading is from the prior LSP layer)

I know it's not "hard" because it is a LSP, just apply, haze, wipe off, but others including myself have not been impressed, maybe a Nick Guide can change our minds ;)

All great suggestions so far! Im the MAN

Hey Bob I think I'll leave that one to Mike. ;)

Hey Bob I think I'll leave that one to Mike.

The only definitive guide or article I've written since joining AGO was this one I posted to the public forum on August 18th, 2009 which is about one week after I officially started working in the Autogeek Corporate office.

The long and in-depth guide for using a DA Polisher
The Definitive How-To Article for using DA Polishers - Includes Videos
Includes: Removing Swirls, Scratches and Water Spots Using a Porter Cable 7424XP, Meguiar's G110v2 or Griot's Garage Polisher

It's still as accurate today as the day it was written and it's based off an article I wrote for MOL that's even older.

I'm a word guy, learned to pick and choose my words for everything I write very purposefully and carefully. I practice defensive writing. Learned that from being a veteran of the NXT vs Zaino Wax Wars and dealing with so many "forum personalities" that will try to tear a person a part, (not just their article or post), over a single word.

Detailing is so subjective...

I like Nick's articles though. Well thought-out, well written, lots of pictures, and above all... helpful to the reader...

Besides my Lava suggestion, how about a Definitive Guide on how to be awesome? Then post your regimens including what you eat for breakfast, favorite cereal, time to sleep, favorite shows etc.

I'll help you get started:

1) Drink Mountain Dew

All that information will be available when my book comes out. ;)

how to wax and care for clear coated or painted wheels

How about the forum favorite of CG Blacklight/V7?

Specifically Blacklight because there's so much confusion about it. You can even get in touch with CG/the chemist(s) and do a Q&A with them.

Windshield polishing!

I would really like to see a guide on the best products, but also pics of windshield scratches, spots, etc. that can and CAN NOT be polished out. I think alot of the time people think they can polish scratches, that can't be removed. Some examples of both would be great!
