Which Flex?

Hey guys, I'm going to try to buy a Flex here soon but IDK which one to get. I've been using my PC 7424XP for a while and I love it, but want something that can cut down on work time and also be able to use a wool pad as well as wet sand if needed. So I'm looking at either the . . .

FLEX XC 3401
FLEX L3403 VRG
FLEX PE14-2-150

I know the 3401 will probably be the smallest step between it and the PC. The L3403 will probably be the easiest rotary to learn with because of it's light weight. And I doubt I would jump to the PE14-2-150 just because its so much different. So which one would you guys recommend and why? Thanks! Im the MAN

I would get one of the rotaries b/c I would like to see what all the fuss with jewelling is about...

Go for the Flex PE14 if you want to use a wool pad to do heavy cutting.

Frank in the two pictures below was actually very good with the rotary buffer, you could tell he's been using an RB for decade as he made it look so easy...

That's a Flexi-Foam 5" Backing Plate with a 5.5" Hydro-Tech Crimson Pad... I highly recommend flexible backing plates, especially if you're new to the rotary buffer.

I've had all 3. Didn't like the 3401 at all because I never got the hang of being able to keep it from walking around. Peddled it. I didn't care for the start and higher low speed of the 3403 although I initially purchased it due to it's lighter weight. Peddled it too.

My current PE14 is the best for me. Slow startup, slower speed for jeweling and power when you need it. Versatilty has it's price. YMMV.

I own all 3.
My vote goes to the "FLEX PE14-2-150" if you think it's time to step to a rotary.It's a quality machine,that's light weight(3403 league) and has a very nice rpm range offering.When doing vertical panels is a dream to work with.

Just got the PE14-2-150. All that I can say is WOW it's so different than the 3401 in the way that it handles. Just an extremely well made machine. It has a lot of the characteristics of the Festool Shinex Rap-150.

I have two swirled-out messes coming in for extreme makeovers and the Flex PE14 will be my first tool of choice.

One is a Factory Five AC Cobra with sanding marks that have not been removed and holograms throughout the finish.

The other is a 1964 Ford Ranch Wagon that has horrendous swirls throughout the custom paint job, don't have a picture of the car yet but here's one showing the holograms...
