Which MF Towels are you guys using for your Waterless Washes?

I'm guessing you want to use a pretty quality MF towel for this washing application.

Ordering 3 types of waterless washes to try out and need some MF towels to go with it

so please give your input on what works for you

THANKS GUYS!!

I like to use the supreme 530, or similar, that has a thicker/longer nap on one side and tighter/shorter nap on the other side. The longer nap side is good for the first wipes, while the the shorter side is good for buffing off the rest. There's similar towels to choose from. It's up to you how much you want to spend. It's always good to pick up a few when on BOGO.

Supreme 530: Supreme 530 microfiber towel, buffing cloth, drying towel, detailing towel, 530 towel

MF Clean & Buff: Microfiber Clean & Buff Towel, micro fiber towels, all purpose towels

Delux Jr. 600: Deluxe Jr. 600 Microfiber Towel, 16 x 16 inches

Gold Plush, Jr's: Gold Plush Jr. Microfiber Towel, gold detail cloth, buffing towel, microfiber buffing towel, micro fiber

I use a green 600gsm towel not found here.

I keep my Cobra's strictly for paint only.

I would suggest trying an Opti-Mit , tried it out for the first time today with an ONR wash and it functioned awesome. The foam pad holds the ONR solution and when you press it on the paint it will release solution, preventing maring from lack of lubrication. Plus it rinses and releases contaminants easily, much more so the the microfiber Bone sponge I was using.

Agreed with the suggestions; long/thick naps work best, although the rolled edges aren't too shabby either (<--excellent for GD method).

My personal favorite are the purple 450gsm Korean towels. They don't bunch up when fold into fours, which is a big plus as you all know how annoying that is.

Speaking of folds; lately I've been rolling them up burrito style to 'sqeegee' or sweep rather than wiping with fours. Caught myself doing it on the last 2 washing without thinking. Weird.

These are perfect for rinseless washes like ONR. I dont think I could ever bring myself to do a waterless wash.

Can you explain why you'd use them for rinseless and not waterless?

I like any towel for waterless that is nice and thick and plush - basically, the same kind of towel I would use for a QD. For rinseless, especially with the GD method, any cheap microfiber towel will do. The difference is that the towels used for the rinseless are totally saturated and wet with water and product. The "wetter" the towel the easier to clean the surface without damage.

Waterless towels are dry and free of water by definition and must rely solely on the product used for all its lubrication, hence it makes sense to use a more plush, protective kind of towel. It is the presence or lack of water that differentiates these two methods and dictates the kind of towel to use.

Thanks Guys for all the excellent selections to choose from and Informative Input!

Thanks Bob I will check out the link now.

I use the Euro shag for hybrid water/rinse-less (GDM) washes. Also tried AG chinchillas they work great as well.
