Which mitt/sponge do you use?

agreed ^. i have the LC, HD, and Lowes Grout sponges, Zymol and SM Arnold sponges and sheepskin mitts, microfiber mitts, etc., and i reach for the Lowes GS very often (it's soft/good size, rinses out easy, and lasts a long time)...
Might I add that it's cheap, as in price.

Now use guys have me curious. I picked up a couple grout sponges in 07 at home depot to use for onr through the winter. The next day they were in the trash and I have never looked for them again, how is the lowes that much better?

They are more poures and softer.

I sure hope so, the home depot ones had nothing more than a few pinholes and were hard as a brick.

quite a few people use the HD grout sponge with no problems and just to clear things up, this is the one (superior bilt) to get there as they have a few different ones...

on the other hand, i like the Lowes grout sponge (once again, the one below is the one to get as they have a few different ones) for the following reasons...

1. it's really gentle, soft, and is even softer when it's wet
2. easily maneuverable, pliable, and squeezes into tight spots
3. rinses out easily, and dries quickly
4. only $2, durable, and lasts a very long time. (buy $10 worth, five sponges and be set for life LOL)

both are good it's just personal preference and as long as it performs with no negative results, you are good to go...

If the dirt build up is substantial I use a sheepskin mitt. If it is just light dirt and rain debris I use a boars hair brush

Z***l sponge my new favorite
Sea Sponge awsome
micro wash bone rarely used
2 Uber sponges on the way
2 micro chenile wash mits ONR ONLY

i think i may swing by lowes tonight. thanks guys. after all the paint correction that i am in the process of, i think i wont even try the harbor freight micro chenille.

now i cannot decide on a car wash, either gold class or pb super slick and suds or the onr

i use a schmitt and the lake country sponge...

the LC sponge replaced the grout sponge...

For car wash, Megs GC, Opt Car Wash, or DG 901 are all great. Many also swear by PB SS and DP 4-in-1 both of which I have no experience with (except for the small sample bottle of DP that came with the foam canon).

Opt Car wash with an ounce of ONR mixed in is my favorite for traditional washing and foam canon.

Ultimately it depends on the type of wash (ONR wash or regular wash), the amount of dirt on the vehicle, and what I feel like using.

But generally, for regular washes I use a Cobra or Walmart Microfiber wash mitt. For ONR washes, I use Pinnacle Microfiber Wash Mitt (the one that's on BOGO right now), or the Cobra/Walmart MF wash mitt. If the car is not very dirty, then I like The Bone by Cobra as it seems to be the smoothest and most swirl-free way to wash a car.

Was a fan of sheep skin but have changed over to MF chenille wash mitts

is there any difference between a sheepskin mitt and a lambswool mitt?

and also where would you guys buy ur sheepskin/lambswool mitts because i had bought one at pep boys and in 1 month the thing ripped and i am very gentle with it

autogeek has one, but the reviews seemed to be about the same experience as yours. i am looking for one as well

The reason I don't use them is because I don't feel like replacing my mitts every month. It's just the nature of the beast though. I imagine if there was one more durable, it probably would be as soft and safe.

i use a shmitt for regular washes with P21S Car wash. I love the schmitt fir regular washes. Works great and is very durable. Also has the yellow side for scrubbing bugs and tar. I would not use it for ONR washes though. I would use something softer. I use a Viking Microfiber Washmit with the fingerss (like the cobra Chinille Blue on) for ONR washes. I use 2 buckets for both types of washes and I frequently rinse the mitt after washing each panel on the car, especially when doing ONR washes. As for the P21S car wash, I like it. Smells good and cleans well. I would use it again but next time Im going to try something different. My only possible gripe with it is it could be a bit more sudsy although itsfine as is. Oh also, I add and ounce of DP 4 in 1 to my bucket of car wash for traditional washes for adding lubrication and it does an awesome job. I would defintely recommend doing this. It also acts as a water softener if you have hard water.
