I'm trying to decide between the PowerBall Mini and the PowerCone. The wheels I'm going to polish are painted and cleared, and they have some somewhat tight corners. Pic below.

The cone is supposed to be better in corners, but it appears to have a rather smooth surface compared to the ball. I don't want to generate too much heat.

It seems like if I push, the ball would get into the corners just as well as the cone. But I wonder if that might cause some problems, eg.: added abrasion, risk of the metal rod in the middle hitting the wheel, risk of tearing up the foam.

So what do you all think? I'd appreciate the input :)

for those wheels I would choose the cone. better control IMHO.

I have the power ball mini, and it doesn't get into corners at all, go with the cone.

The cone will work better. The foam is not as soft as you think and you will not be able to push enough into corners.

Round balls don't go in to square corners.

If you have a spoke that meets the hoop at a right angle, the PowerCone is a far better choice.

If the rim has a deep lip, the cone can be laid on its side to polish the depth, while moving it side to side.

Thanks for the help everyone! I ordered my cone. Now to play the waiting game...

Would compound be a bad idea with this thing? Should I just stick to polish?
