which pad for beginner with porter cable

Hey guys, I just purchased my porter cable last night from lowes and I am planning on ordering my backing plate and a pad today or tmrw if i can figure out the correct combo to get. I was thinking of getting the LC 5inch backing plate, but wasnt sure which pad to get. I was thinking maybe the original LC flat pad, or maybe the LC foam pad, either one in the 6.5inch size. What do you guys think? any tips or recommendations would greatly be appreciated, Thanks.
 
You should go with 5" backing plate and 5.5" pads.

This will make the polishing easy and help keep the machine Turing your pad.

I like the hydro tech pads.
 
LC Orange cutting pads paired with WG TSR, LC White polishing pads paired with WG FG, and LC Red Soft pads paired with WGDGPS should get you started.
 
update: i actually returned the porter cable and ended up ordering a gg 6inch and a Dual Action Deluxe CCS Foam Pad Kit all from this site. so i think im good start with on pads for now
