Which Polish? 3D vs Sonax?

Longevity only matters in winter climates and with car owners that would rather do other things than worry about their cars.

This is my biggest reason for bringing up longevity.

You're right. In warmer months, I wash our cars every week or two and use a spray wax as a drying aid. I never run out of protection. However once late Fall/Winter hits, I need something that will go 7-ish months.

Very nice pictures.

The more I see the more I think I'm going to switch to HD Products :D

Thanks

The protection with Speed is excellent.

OP, key thing, Speed is an all in one. Not a dedicated polish. You get excellent correction to a point but it's not a dedicated polish. It's an excellent one step. I usually top it (LSP) with HD Poxy and it greatly enhances both the gloss and longevity of Speed and it only adds about 30 minutes from start to finish to the over all job. Machine apply and use very little, maybe .5-.75 oz to do a medium sized sedan.

Did this 370Z with HD Adapt and topped with Poxy this past weekend.

Adapt is definitely a polish you want in your arsenal.

After / 95% perfected:

I did this entire vehicle in a little over 5 hours including washing, wheels and quick interior wipe down, 5-6 section passes with Adapt and topped with Poxy with my Griots G21 and 5" bp. Used B & S orange pads (5)

I used Sonax EX 04-06 for the first time on a Rolls-Royce last week, i really liked the "work-ability" of the product. i have also used gallons of HD Speed, it works extremely well as an AIO.

the 2 products side-by-side isn't exactly fair.

i use HD speed mostly for car show prep and used car clean ups. it makes the paint look amazing and its quick and easy to use. the protection is lacking, i hads a few cars that stopped beading after a month of daily driving.

The Sonax EX 04-06 i used as a one-step polish and as the finish polish after compounding. i like the low sling, long work times, and zero dusting. it worked great as a one-step polish and finished really nicely after compounding. my only complaint i have is that its hard to get all of the product wiped off, i used a bit of IPA to help break down the porduct.

in the end both work very well, but i wouldn't dump the Sonax for HD. an 8 oz bottle of HD Speed is cheap enough, try is for yourself and go from there.

I respectfully disagree with the above comment about the durability of HD Speed. I have personally witnessed 3+ months of durability in the middle of our blazing Florida summer with daily torrential rains on non garage kept vehicles and most were clients who don't even know what a spray wax or detail spray is. I also do not think beading is in itself is a sole measure of whether the product is still protecting the vehicles finish. This as many know has been debated many times over on the forum. Beading is just so subjective. I've seen my personal vehicle with a fresh coat of sealant exhibit little beading a couple weeks later because it was dirty. Just my personal opinion which means little anyway
