Which Products do you wish you NEVER BOUGHT?

they are great for getting oil off your hands after you change your oil and for wadding up and sticking in your gas nozzle if you've lost your cap LOL

LOL!! Better than nothing :o but I'd never go without a gas cap.

Nimble, thanks for mentioning the Cobra MF Chenille wash pad. I had actually been eyeing that just to give it a try.

NO MORE! You saved me money buddy!

Hey, it was actually the *white cotton* chenile wash pad. Not the micro fiber. Although much softer, I haven't heard much great on the MF ones either. I just bought a few edge shmitt's with my last danase order that arrived yesterday. They are nice and you might try one.

I've got two of the white ShMITTs and those things are so great. I haven't had to use my second one yet since the first one is still in great shape.

Great product and no swirling/marring so far! I'm SOLD!

Ugh, back in my pre Autogeek/Autopian days, I bought Turtle Wax F21 polish with "nano technology." What a bunch of crap.

I may have purchased more items then i can use, but i have no regrets or much space left :)

My list of losers is endless, but what comes to mind for me is a wax I tried to use on my dad's car when I was a kid. It was called Blue Coral. It came in a little glass jar and had the texture of candle wax and went on and came off as if it were. This was by far the most worthless product I ever bought.

I found the near-complete NASCAR line of car care products on sale at a Big Lots. Being the naive newbie that I am, new truck and all, I bought the whole set for about 18 bucks. Gee, what a find! (not)

The tire shine/cleaner is crap, the wheel cleaner isnt much better. I never used the wax kit because this site led me to use clay followed by Liquid Glass. I'll probably use their quick detail spray for a clay lube. The wash soap is decent. Havent tried the leather cleaner/conditioner but I dont have much faith in it at this point based on the performance of the other NASCAR stuff.

Oh, and the white cotton terry towels I got at the Zone left my Tahoe with a fine coating of lint. I used them because I read on another board that MF isnt effective at removing Liquid Glass after it hazes.

I did like using Meguiar's Smooth Surface clay kit, and a synthetic chamois called 'The Absorber". Also, the Liquid Glass did a good job, you can really feel the difference in the finish. I applied it to everything except the black textured trim.

After using my first "boutique" product - DG 101, I decided to hate:

-Megs Medallion Premium Paint Protection ($22.75 at the local store for 16 oz, total ripoff),
-Nufinish,
-Turtlestuff

Also, decided that Mothers Back-to-Black vinyl/rubber polish aint so great.

Invisible glass is fun to use but no better than windex

Finally.

Megs NXT Next Generation high tech wax is lousy, especially compared to DG 101, which made my newly-purchased, much neglected Avalon look absolutely wonderful, deep, rich shiny finish.

Now, i just need a proper wax or sealant.

I'm thinking W-DGPS over the Klasse HGSG, followed by Souveran and the occasional Aquawax weekly app.

Stoner no better then windex?? man that's the best window cleaner ever

also if you want a sample of klasse sg let me know, I have too much of that stuff. i think I have like 50oz of it. that's beside all the other sealant i have lol

menzerna car wash (best polishes but this soap is awful)
pb wheel sealant (it works but there are much easier sealant to apply like OS)

I bought a bottle of Dupont teflon spray wax, before I was informed about car care and new about AG. I cant even believe they can sell a product so terrible. 0 out of 5 shine, 0 out 5 prottection, 0 out of 5 application. Worst 6 bux Ive ever spent on my car.

Surfer: Why no love for the XMT glaze? alot of others seem to like it, and I was thinkning about getting it...

I've bought a bunch of stuff that I only used once but, I don't regret it for a couple reasons.

#1 I can speak on it with knowledge and not second hand info and hopefully save someone else from wasting some cash (what this place is about right?)

#2 a lot of people I know are not as critical as I am about what they use... and they get my hand me downs and most of the time use the entire product... kinda like x-mas for them

That entire dupont line is a joint venture with the company I work for and dupont.

We are not even a car care product company, we make shocks, struts, elastomers, exhaust.

I've told them time and time again their stuff sucks.

Turtle wax
Nufinish
Terry towels from the Marts, K & Wal
Just tried NXT on my wife's car. We'll see! If it's bad, will file under " I'M SUCK! "

Oh and I should add, well I regret my dad buying this turtle wax stuff. It's sitting there. I hope it was cheap.

I almost regreted buying NTS7 rim cleaner, but I was stupid enough not to let the product dwell for 3-5 minutes like the instructions said. I gave it a spin, leaving it 3-5 minutes on, and agitated, and the stuff worked great :). It is actually a nice inexpensive wheel cleaner.

Looking to trade some of the Zaino you have or is it all gone? I'll be willing to let you sample some of the DP line or Liquid Souveran.

Someone gave me that Zaino to use and I was happy to hand it back.

I started to use some of the DP and Pinnacle Line, then I meet someone who introduced me to Auto Magic and then I was hooked...then I got into Malco a little bit and wasn't as impressed as I was with Auto Magic.

I would be willing to try some of the line you talk about again for free.;)

Kinda funny about the Menz wash, for a company thats so highly touted with their other products, their wash gets slammed as horrible everywhere. You owuld think they would be able to make a good wash considering what they've done for polishes etc.
