Which Products do you wish you NEVER BOUGHT?

Something I wish I'd never bought, a leather chamois a couple years ago when I first started handwashing my old 350Z. Didn't really work well, was a pain in the rear to work with (drying etc.) and then I find out they're notorious for scratching. Worst $20 ever spent.

One product I have a love/hate relationship with currently is Dodo's Tyromania. I LOVE the look, but I absolutely hate and have given up applying it to my vehicles that have the ribbed sidewalls. Maybe a different applicator would help (have thought about figuring out how to use the big rectangular foam blocks AG sells) but with the included one it's just painful to use.

I agree with the nxt spray wax!! Its hell to use!!
It not even slightly forgiving and tends to chalk up real quick!

I have two bottles lying around finding duty on household stuff like ceramic tiles, urethane coated wood furniture etc! :D

Ultimate Quick wax was a HUGE improvement over all of the meguiars quick/spray wax line!!

1) Optimum Opti-Mitt (never in a million years did I think anything from Optimum would be on my list)

2) Carpro Reload (just awful smelling, eye and nose irritant, over priced, doesn't last as long as advertized, doesn't look better than spray sealant alternatives)

3) DoDo Time to Dry Detailer - over priced and doesn't dry any better than most other less expensive detail sprays, gloss not that great either...besides I use Metro Blaster now to dry car)

4) 1Z Window cleaner (save your money, not impressed, smells bad)

5) Lots of brushes and fancy APCs...can go to local store and get some ZIP cleaner and assorted brushes to clean just about anything.

Poorboys QD+..streaks like crazy and a pain to buff off..
CCS pads - they are just a PITA to clean with those dimples
DP wheel glaze - dusted like crazy and a PITA to remove
Wolfgang DGPS - I just never use it

That's really just the old Edge ShMitt, that a lot of us never really understood, anyway.

EDIT: You know, it's funny how since 3M bought the Edge pads and adapter, you hear nothing about them. For a while after the availability was terrible, but I just looked here at AG and all the adapters and pads seem to be in stock in the 4, 6, and 8" sizes, just the waffle pads seem to have lost some numbers. I'll admit I never even got around to trying my Edge pads...and it seems I'll never get to either, with all this MF stuff happening...

I agree with this....except for DGPS! I love DGPS one of my favorites to use.

Megs APC+

Nothing wrong with it, but now that I have OPC I never use APC+. It's a little harsher on my skin than I'd like to see, and is questionable near paint which makes me nervous around my wheels and body.

Never actually had an issue with it though.

Also,

Turtle Wax ICE
Armor All
Windex
Every QD known to man. ONR exclusively now.

Would you like to get rid of the WDGPS.

Breast Implants...for my girlfriend....she's gone now...so are the Breast....

Wow. Just read all 8 pages. Glad to see others aggro about zaino. Amen to that water pill.

I'll tell you there's really one thing that stuck out, that absolutely pissed me off more than anything and that's the Autogeek foam gun for the garden hose not the foam cannon.

That thing was the biggest most worthless pos I've ever used. I used it absolutely correctly. It's just a huge hassle and waste of time. It uses so much foam I almost think its a ploy to sell more extreme foam. Was very disappointed.

Also to add to the list is m105/205. Not much better than any megs OTC line which is horrible. Then again I use menzerna and prima.

But 85rd is extremely over rated, if it was all that they wouldn't have discontinued it. And prima CUT is missing fillings in a bottle of tooth paste.

That's really about it. Oh and surf city garage is cheap garbage priced like its gold.

RE: Kris R,

Just a couple thoughts.

To my knowledge 85rd was not discontinued, but simply renamed. I have gotten stunning results using it on soft paint.

Also, having used all of Megs OTC products, as well as M105/205, I can safely say that if you're not getting good results using 105/205 then it's due to user error, not the products themselves. I've personally achieved many miraculous transformations using that combo.

I bought a sample of the two to try it out on a horribly marred and swirled out black car. I use orange and yellow pads with a Mikita on one half and the same set up with menzerna powergloss on the other half. The powergloss dusted less than 105 and was easier to remove. Wasn't a fan and I assure you that your assumption that I don't know what I'm doing is false.

Also I do not like how gummy 85rd becomes. For a polish with very little cut it shouldn't be such a chore to remove. There are other products I've used that do the trick and is easier to remove.

IMO, Anything with the name "Armor All" on it! In the 70's and 80's, I've seen so many interior plastics ruined because of this stuff. Haven't touched the stuff since.

Glad some of my biggest regrets are already on the list.

Poorboys QD+ - I know many that have good luck with this, but I am not one of them. I don't even think it would make a good clay lube...

CCS pads - I like flat and VC pads. Have Hydro pads for specific items, but normally stick to the old school LC pads.

The NXT 1st release, made my silver truck look like it as in a bad coat of saran wrap. Why top NXT with a good wax ? Shiney saran wrap still looks bad. At the time I went back to Megs 81-7-26 combo.

Meg G110 ( not the G110V2 ). Got it due to the hype of how much of an improvement over the G100 ( basically a PC with a Megs sticker ) to replace the liberated PC from the wood shop ( scribed many a cabinet with it ). My antique PC on its second set of motor brushes did a better job than a brand new G110. Gave it away ( it was that bad ).
Soured me on buying Megs. Converted away after the last of my 7 & 26 were gone ( think the 81 is still way in the back of the cabinet somewhere ).

Should I go to the 80s to mention the Sears 11" orbit and Mothers AIO ???
How about Turtle wax with Teflon ??
