I ordered some QS this weekend, I'll be keeping an eye out for the gallon sizes to pop up on sale again hopefully, I doubt AG is gonna give away those as free gifts.
Which QD for a serious wet look?

My all time favorite QD....
Meguiar's Detailer Line "Last Touch"
Just an awesome value and it really works. Even adds protection and beading. It now comes in an aerosol making it easy to transport and use.

A QD and a Spray sealant are 2 different products....
A QD is a cleaner and a gloss enhancer...usually contains a cleaning agent like alcohol and a gloss inducer such as silicone or carnauba..

the QD's are short lived...they more or less just float on the surface..no actual bonding takes place...the Name Quick Detailer implies what it is..it is a product to make the paint look like it was just detailed...enhancing the gloss...
The Spray Sealants are exactly what the name says..A sealant in a Spray form...it will bond to the paint or LSP ..they contain crosslinking polymers that will stay on the paint after a wash..not like a QD which most will wash off ...with the exception of 925 which claims to bond to the LSP...but still does not live as long as AW does on the paint..but longer than a regular QD will...

Crystal Mist -- More Spray Wax then Qd, yet short life
Aquawax --- Clearly adding gloss/slickness to paint , short lived
Poorboys Spray/Gloss --- amps up gloss, short lived
FK425 --- best looking of the bunch, proven anti-static ability, short lived
I would not use any of these for light cleaning however. More like Poorboys Spray/Wipe or Mothers Showtime.

Exactly what I was thinking. I just looked at the ingredients of a QD I have and one of the main ingredients is alcohol and the other is a carnauba emulsion? How can these two mix? Wouldn't the alcohol strip your LSP?

Fk 425 uses Butyl Acetate...as a cleaner...
Not sure what Quick shine uses if any...
Meg's uses alcohol in most of the QD's
what do you think cleans fingerprints..bird bombs..water spots from using a QD..
They are used in such low ratios that they pose no harm to the finish...
Water is the main ingredient..then the gloss enhancer ..then the cleaner..
The cleaners do not make it a bad product..just makes them effective in making a clean shiny surface...
thats why at a car show you see the owners spraying a QD to remove lite dust..fingerprints......or in a car show room...they wipe the cars down after every one touch all over them...

No..not really...maybe just some of the dying top layer..but the cleaners are in such a small ratio they impede no real problem...
waxes and sealants and polishes them selves have solvents in them..some have alcohol...mineral spirits..Naphtha..kerosene and other hydrocarbon products as carriers..but not in proportion to do harm to under laying coats...
they are not like a 50/50 mixture of water and alcohol like you use for a wipe down or the cleaners in a paint cleaner....thats a strong mix...most solvents in a product are in the 5-10% bracket used as a evaporative agent and emulsion agent to keep waxes and sealants liquid or paste texture..and as a evaporative agent ..to dry off and leave product behind on the paint...
The solvents in a QD are used to just do a lite cleaning of the surface..cleaning the weaker of the contaminants.

Otherwise you are right. An average QD contains around 95-97% water. The others are the main active ingredients and the cleaners. However, not all QDs contain cleaners, because the water is a good solvent alone for this purpose. The wetting of water plus the mechanical abrasion of the towel is enough to take off fingerprints, etc. A very small amount of alcohol is just helping the wetting (where the active ingredients must reach the substrate) without actually harming the coating on the surface. So don't worry; the actives replenish more slickness/protection than the alcohol removes.
BTW, 425 is a non-cleaning QD. If you want to use a cleaning QD from FK1, use the 146.
