Which sealant to apply

hi all,

i wanted some advice regarding which sealant to apply. first ill explain what ill be applying for the polish and then will be needing advice from the experts...

ill be claying the car with meguiars clar bay followed by meguiars ultimate polish. ok i have klasse aio as well so which one do you prefer? As ill be using Chemical Guys Glossworkz Glasze after the polish...

i would like to go with ultimate polish because as its oil based and so is Glosswokz Glaze. the result should be good. (ADVICE PLEASE)?

after done with the polishing and glazing ill be applying a sealant. now the options i have are Jet Seal, Black Fire Diamond Coating, Menzerna Power Lock, Klasse Sealant.

i might be adding a coat of carnauba wax as my last step but that will be done after 24 hours.
so which one to apply on top of glossworkz glaze. its a black metallic car...

so experts please suggest the best combination..

Klasse AIO is a superb product and does a great job at cleaning and restoring the finish to a beautiful shine. While it does everything it describes it's a chemical cleaner and contains no abrasives. Because Klasse AIO is a 1-step product it leaves a layer of protection behind.

Meguiar's Ultimate Polish is a beautiful product and performs well. It removes oxidation, grime, stains, and minor finish defects. Ultimate Polish prepares the finish for your favorite wax or sealant as it offers no protection itself.

Since it's a black finish do a couple of test spots to see which product give the better result.

All the sealants you mention are top shelf and work well but of the ones you have, BlackFire Wet Diamond and Menzerna Power Lock are the easiest to apply and remove.

Thnx for such wonderful information regarding both the products...well i did not mention a very impt point..i will be using the AIO and Ultimate polish both by hand...so i assume i will stick with AIO..i also like that product..there are some minor swirls but ill be correcting them some other time...

the sealant which i personally liked was Black Fire...no doubt one of the slickest finish...

as ur an expert so which wax do u suggest me to top the sealant with? i have the following: p21s, pinnacle soverne liquid, collinite marque, poor boys blue and red, meguiars#26... my preference will be protection and i am assuming i should stick to collinite..but ill do what the experts recommend me to :)
 
I am an expert only in my own mind but thank you for the complement! :props: :laughing:

All of the waxes you have are good and will give you satisfaction. What you will fine is some are easier to use that others and some have greater durability.

Collinite Marque 915 is probably the most challenging to apply but of all the waxes you mention it gives a warm deep gloss and offers the best in durability and protection. :cheers:
 
i had this collinite since over a year..so i think ill give it a try at least once...will surely keep you updated how it went :)
 
Collinite Marque 915 is what I would call an "Old Time" classic paste wax. The key to any of the Collinite waxes is to spread it thin, I mean really thin, almost like you can barely see it lay down. If you apply it thick so it's easily visible, as with a liquid sealant or wax, it'll take forever to haze and will be a BEAR to remove.

To avoid becoming discouraged, work on 1 panel at a time to develop your technique.

How-to Machine Apply Wax using a DA Polisher

I've found applying most waxes is easily accomplished with my Porter Cable 7424 dual action polisher. Apply the wax as illustrated in the photo below, set the machine speed to 3, and away you go!.

Maybe they changed the 915 formula, but I find it's one of the easiest waxes to apply and remove. It doesn't smear and wipes off super easy IME. It's an awesome wax and will impress.

I think waxes are best applied by hand, I feel applying by machine wastes too much product and isn't quite as accurate. Plus, how do you do intricate areas and bumpers by machine? Dunno.
 
applying wax by machine is much easier and less elbow grease is required but tight spots cant be done with a 5' or a 6' pad..for that we need a smaller one else use hands...

the technique for any wax is thin...so ill certainly keep that in mind and apply it thin..hopefully the results should be good...

but the main question remains the same...the bonding on glaze with Klasse AIO and jet seal... if any one had tried that...i am expecting there should not be any issues but if anyone has faced it so can warn me in advance ;)
 
I have had excellent results using 205 and following up with bfwd. I love it.
 
Power Lock s a fav of mine . As for carnauba wax , so many great choices .
 
Jet Seal: No.

BFWD: Yes

PowerLock: Yes

KAIO: never used it, but people seem to love it.

I think you can't go wrong with any of the last 3. Just throw a dart and pick one.
 
I tend to believe in synergy, so from what you have, I would do the Klasse AIO and sealant, skipping on the CG GG ('cause of the synergy thing).
 
I think if you are talking sealants, you must include the SONAX Netshield (looks amazing, best sheeting I've seen from any sealant, and as easy as applying a detail spray..almost coating like in its properties)...or my 2013 product of the year...Hydro2 from Carpro, which if you can rinse off a car, you can apply it, best used for areas you can't get to easily (wheel wells, wheels, etc).

•Follow the K-AIO with K-HGSG

Sealants are what I worry the least about. They're all good. Seriously. Even cheap sealants last a long time (but more expensive ones are easier to work with). Anyway, as someone mentioned, throw a dart.

no doubt M205 is a classic...thy have really good bonding with most of the products...and bfwd has one of the best shine so far in the sealants i have tried...i find it quite diff from the rest. but will certainly try this combination

synergy??? ill be needing some guidance on that..what really do u mean by synergy...i googled it a little but was unable to make a relationshp of it...Feed back please

certainly will be buying that as have read great reviews by some members...so is hydro2 something like tht opti coat and other tought coats?
